I bet a game with an offshore book "action" and with a local book "action". there was a pitching change and the dog won. The offshore place where I was laying -146 charged me but the local book said that the price has to be adjusted to reflect the change and instead of paying +155 wants to pay +110. Who is right?

local books do what they please, i had a local always boost the line on me a half point to a full point on totals because he knew i took the overs most of the time. then someone i knew would get the same game a half point or a full point lower than i did. so they do what they want to and there is nothing you can do about it

My expierience with this when a postup offshore is involved is they pay you based on the amount you put at risk. Hence, had the favorite won you would have got a bigger win (146 divided by -120?)- a dog offshore and you get paid on the amount risked (100x+110?) . With the local you are on credit and your bet is based on 100. On the dog it is a matter of how much you will get paid if you win and had you been on the favorite with the local and lost you should only owe 120. So the amount at risk changes with the local or credit guy when you bet on the favorite but not when you are on the dog when there is a pitching change.
