It's been a bad year for the Cubs and now it looks like it's only going to get worse. They have no idea when Bere is going to come back. (groin)
Leiber is now on the DL (right elbow tendinitis)
Zambrano , even though he's a useless stiff, is suspended, so what to do now?
They've called up some clown by the name of Steve Smyth who will make his major league debut on Tuesday against Barry and the Giants.
How good is this Smyth guy?
Well at Triple A Iowa he's got a 6.15 era!!
Very impressive. Better yet, he averages 5 innings per start. Will he even last 5 innings before he hands it off to the 7+era (post-break) cubby bullpen?
Wowser!
I feel for you Cub fans. It may be another long century.
