Now some people are shy about online gambling because they think the games might be fixed by the casino owners. That is not going to happen. The casino software makers MUST install tamper-proof barriers, so to keep the software name one which has a sparkling reputation. The casino owners of those "3rd-raters", don't have the knowledge to change or bypass those barriers, they are not progammers, many don't even know how to publlish a web-page. They bought their casino "turn-key ready". So for those reasons amongst many others, the casino itself will be fair

What happens is the "3rd-rate casino operators" just don't pay their big winners.

A land-based casino would never allow that to happen. It would be the beginning of their end. You would most-likely demand the police be called, the media, not too mention you could even stand in front with a picket sign. But none of the above applies to online gambling.

Like it or not; whether you get paid; is pretty much up to the casino. Not a problem when playing at online casinos which payout large jackpots on a regular basis.

After all, what are you going to do? Get on an airplane, fly over there to "the first island due west of fantasy island", and beat it out of them? Since they are also the ones that pay the salaries of the goverment and police.......... .

But it will never come to that; so what happens is nothing more than futile emails which are ignored like spam recieved from the local porn site operators. The casino keeps the five figure jackpot which would have been paid with no questions asked; on time; and in full;

Then there is the credit card issue. Who wants to give out their credit card number to the above mentioned

Most the casinos online. aren't even worthy of the "free-chip chasers" that go from one 3rd rate casino website to another chasing down free $10 offers which require the gambler to gamble the "bonus" over 10 times before it can be withdrawn. When was the last time you went into a casino and walked out with 10 times your original stake?

There is no 100% safe option with online casinos. Even the "biggies" could go bankrupt (I suppose), but your chances of not getting paid on a large jackpot go way up.... if you don't stick to the absolute top of list casinos.

I would say that a bet-matching system is the way forward. Betfair have done remarkably well and they match something like $40M per week.

Oh, and it is risk free of course.
