Default Unrest in Fakertown and Tyra Bank's main squeeze

I was wondering why, in the crucial possession that ended up with Bibby burying the game winning shot, the Lakers had Derek Fisher guarding Bibby; after all, he was torched by Bibby in the first half of game 4 while Kobie, who is acknowledged to a better defender anyway, had pretty much shut Bibby down in the 2nd half of that game. The Zen Master claims that Kobie begged off guarding Bibby on that last possession, while Kobie claims that he said no such thing. Any thoughts on which one is lying and will Kobie's insulted manhood cause him to guard Bibby the whole way this time?
On another subject, Webber seems to pile up impressive stats but when he touches the ball late in a close game I cringe. Also, he doesn't seem to WANT to touch the ball late. I'd prefer Stoyo the Gimp or
the Turk to take a last second shot over No More Timeouts. Maybe the Kings had better win in 6 or not win at all.

Is it Phil trying to get in Kobe's head

BTW who is Tyra Bank's main squeeze?

Her main squeeze is Mr. Timeout; don't you remember that profane tirade by him when reporters unearthed the fact that they were dating? I remember thinking, damn, he got pissed because they said he was dating Tyra; what is they had suggested that he was dating, say, Starr Jones?

Do not be surprised if the Lakers trade Kobe this summer. Phil hates him and people in the organization know that Shaq is the team and they can definately replace Kobe with a package of players and not lose much offense with another strong scorer. The team revolves around Shaq and he is the Franchise.

No way the Lakers get rid of Kobe. That would be absurd. He is the definition of "clutch". He makes shots at critical moments that are unreal. He never shys away from the ball at big moments. He and Shaq feed off each other, regardless of their little squabbles......Props to Bibby though. I thought getting rid of Jason was nuts at first, but Bibby has been the man. Nothing like a guy who wants the ball when the game is on the line. He has tremendous heart. It may go seven, but the Kings will win this series.

Get rid of Kobe? Yeah, lets trade the guy who will probably be the best player in the league for the next 8 years or so and somehow 'replace' him.

Not sure if this is the exact saying, but in golf...drive for show, putt for dough...well, Kobe is the guy that always putts, Shaq handles the drives...best clutch player in the league and he is only 24. Shaq is 30 and has chronic injury problems. And I don't think he'll be the type of player that plays until his mid to late 30's..I wouldn't be suprised if he retires in a few years.

Of course Webber doesn't want the ball late, hell he fumbled it out of bounds and needed the hometown call for the Kings to keep possession immediately before Bibby's shot.

Webber is gutless. Paying him all that money was a waste, he disappears at the end of big games. On the other hand getting Bibby has to one of the better robberies in a long time. What was Memphis thinking? I am no expert but did they even watch a game Jason Williams was in? Makes you wonder how some of these NBA executives got their jobs.

Agree about Bibby. It seemed very obvious to me that Bibby for J Williams was a HUGE upgrade for the Kings. In fact, the DAY the trade was announced, I plunked down $$ on Sac to win the NBA title at Carib at 15-1 before the odds changed. J Will = entertainment, Bibby = winner

I think Phil Jackson is a liar. I just can't fathom Kobe saying he doesn't want to guard Bibby, when the game is on the line. No way. Whenever the Lakers put Kobe on Bibby, Bibby struggled to get his shot. Why would the team's best defender not want to guard Bibby when the season is at stake? That is nuts. I don't know why Jackson always clashes with Kobe.

Say what you want about Webber, but that screen he put on Fisher was sweet. He got Bibby wide open.

Phil Jackson is a petulant jackass. Always has been. Always will be.

Cant stand his constant crying, bitching and moaning.

Easton: What's the matter, Starr Jones doesn't exactly light your fire, either?

I think Jackson lied, too, he is well known for his little head games and I can't imagine Kobe saying that even if he felt that way-it doesn't exactly paint a positive picture of him to his teammates. If the refs call the game fairly, i.e., don't let Shaq use his shoulder as a battering ram, and the Kings use Webber as a decoy late in the game, they have a chance to end this thing in LA. No Rams, No Yankees, and No Lakers!
(Don't know if the Red Wings will complete the Grand Slam of Heavy Championship Favorites to Lose, however).

Personally, having the Kings in the series, I wanted Bibby to take the shot. Webber disappears for whatever reason, and even though he is the franchise player, Adleman obviously did the right thing. CWebb was in the same position earlier in the season vs. the Lakers, and he missed a wide-open 16 footer for the game. Here's an article from ESPN.com about CWebb's lategame troubles. A pretty good read:

Webber

Kobe is the most overrated player in the game, no doubt. As bad as he wants to be MJ by acting like him, he is no where close. How many game winners has Kobe hit in his playoff career? When it comes down to the final shot, the Lakers are far better with the ball in Horry's hands than Kobe. Jordan hit that shot on Ehlo in 1989, his sixth year in the league I believe. This is Kobe's sixth year, and the comparison isn't even close. Kobe went 0-2 against the Bulls this year, and lost to the Heat at home while the Lakers were Shaq-less. And that's the best player in the game? Please. When you're the best player in the league, you should manage a better record than 2-4 in games that Shaq didn't play in.

Watching the Lakers, Yankees, Rams, and Red Wings all lose as favorites would be incredible. I hate all four teams, and would've been happy if two of them lost in the postseason. Now, I have a chance to go four for four.

PhillyFanatic, the link to the Webber story doesn't work, and I would defintely like to read it. I don't think
much of Kobe, either, but I think most overrated in the league is a bit harsh. In fact, I think C-Webb might be in the running for that title!

Agree with Neil. I don't know how they called that ball off Horry after Weber did an Ernest Byner. No replay was shown but it did look like a hometown call.
