| from rotojunkie.com This is inspired by the guy asking in the Pen about how to prepare for a draft where you select for all three major sports in a single draft. I thought this would make a good thread Hockey is ommitted because there won't be a season next year Here's a 12 team league's 1st round: Absolute #1 would be Garnett with his DOMINANCE in every category except threes. A-Rod with the pos. elig. and steals make him a solid #2 pick. The Reverend Priest Holmes at three dominating fantasy football for a second year in a roll (as the #1 overall fantasy player; who would've thought with the holdout and injury issues???) LT 2 - consistency at a HIGH level (20 + points weekly?) - you can't pass him up no matter how bad the SD O-line is @ #4. Vlad Guerrero - Fantasy Baseball's TOP 5x5 player @ the fifth pick! Kobe - Pick #6 Contributes in EVERY single category (acceptable block levels when he doesn't have to shoot the ball 30 times a game) and it looks like he'll be acquitted ala OJ, so expect him to be the #1 fantasy BBaller (overtaking Garnett) next year. Tim Duncan - Pick #7 An off year for sure - but if he gets that FT% back up, he'll be Fantasy Basketball's #2 stud with the solid assist #s. Pujols - Pick #8 4 cat stud. What else needs to be said? Mark Prior - Pick #9 Covers your 4 pitching cats in what should be a Cy Young campaign in 2005. Much less risk than Schmidt or Johnson. Dirk Nowitzki - Pick #10 Noone has more potential than Dirk in truly putting up monster #s in EVERY category (with mind blowing ratios - and YES! even assists!) except stiffs like Walker and Jamison were taking his shots and his PT in 2003/04. A higher potential and better shooting Marion, should be the fourth best fantasy basketball player next year (a ranking he lost after an amazing 2002 campaign) but has the potential to finish wayyyyy ahead of Garnett, Duncan and Bryant. Mike Vick - #11 Draft him just to watch him play for your team. Also draft him because in REAL leagues, running yards should count much more than passing yards and he should be Fantasy Football's #3 player in a league like that. C. Beltran - #12 Where else would you get Beltran? Has the potential to be the #1 overall player in a list like this when he gets to his prime - which would very well be 2005. Obviously, alot of Basketball guys here because no sport allows a SINGLE player to dominate so many categories like BB. The consistency factor (week in and week out) is the reason I left out Portis or Maclister in the first round |
