Default DjShorty's Picks

Well, I didn't want to muck up yzerman's thread with my picks, and I want to keep an online journal so I can track how often I win and lose. For the record I'm a complete newbie who can't name three players on a team, so I would advise against putting money on my picks. In fact, you'll probably want to bet on the opposite of what I choose .

For October 28th Hockey games

Bet One Unit on Anaheim at 1.40 --- Lost

Bet One Unit on Colorado at 1.62 ---- Won

Bet One Unit on Detroit at 1.80 --- Won

Bet One Unit on Detroit vs Vancouver Over 5.0 at 1.66 ---- No Loss/No Win hit 5.0

Bet One Unit on Anaheim Vs Edmonton Under 5.5 at 1.64 ---- Won

Overall for October 28th, 3-1-1

Thanks for the welcome.

Okay I gotta get to class so I'm only going to be making one bet tonight, unless I can get there early and do some research.

Right now I have one unit on the Under 5.5 at 1.86 in the Tampa Vs NY game. I'm going with this play because it seems that when both teams meet they usually hit the under (even though Tampa has been over in 5/6 of recent games). Also, looking at their point avgs, it doesn't look like either one of them scores much per game (not sure if this is a viable way to make a bet, but going with it anyway).

Alright thats it for now, if I get a chance at University I'll probably add another bet.

Gl to all --- and remember not to follow my bets as I'm a newbie

Bout to leave, but I also put one Unit on Dallas to win tonight. Can't go into the details of why right now... but I'll put my reasons why up after class.

Damn, just finished class and noticed Yzerman bet opposite to my Dallas call. So apparently I lost that one. Damn Wunderdog email list sending me those free picks. I did win the Under 5.5 call though, so my new record is 4-2-1.

Alright, what sucks is I gotta go to work from 3 - 9 pm so I'm unable to check what other people are putting down on all these hockey games (ie. Yzerman). I guess I gotta go with what my own guts and brains tell me for today.
One Unit on Montreal vs Atlanta @ 1.54. One Unit on the Under 6.0 @ 1.95.

I'm choosing montreal because they just had a 4 game winning streak and seem to be in good shape (especially on home turf). Plus I like Montreal (what kinda betting instinct is that) because I'm Canadian.

As for why I'm choosing the under. It seems that the point avgs for these two teams isn't too high (8-10 games against each other have gone under), and Atlanta doesn't seem to score many points per game, so I just gotta hope Montreal doesn't kick too much ass.

I sure hope I'm betting the same way as Yzerman today, but like I said, I have bloody work, so I can't check at all.

Gl to everyone

(btw, anyone check out the Rainman thread in the NBA section, should I consider it a legitimate system ? )

Thanks

Well Montreal lost in that shootout, but on the upside the game went under 6.0.
That makes my new record 5-3-1. Let's hope tomorrow brings 2 wins.

For tomorrow, or should I say tonight, I like Columbus over Anaheim. If they can beat the Kings they should have no problem with the ducks, since the ducks seem pretty shitty lately... What do ya guys think? is this a good play @2.70?

Btw, the reason why I think Columbus can beat Anaheim is because they seem like a really solid team. They're 4 to 1 in their last five games, and hopefully their winning streak will continue. Plus they have one of the best goaltenders (leclaire) and a great defense. To me it seems like a great play at 2.70. However, I don't like the fact that they're playing a road game, and just after a tough win against L.A. (no rest for them), while Anaheim has been recuperating.

I'm also thinking about the Flyers beating Montreal. Maybe I'm just pissed at Montreal for losing the last one, but I don't think they'll beat the flyers. I have to look into this more though.

I'd feel a lot more confident though if someone chimed in and let me know that they feel the same.

Alrighty, I've put one Unit on Columbus over Anaheim @ 2.70. I hope they win tonight... I don't think Ima bet any more games for today though, even though there are so many. I'd like to bet on the capitals as well, with that news at Offshore Sports Betting - Online Gambling Sportsbook - Sports Forum forum about the rangers having the flu bug. Gl everyone.

Wow, Yzerman thanks for that. I've already put down one unit on them, but I just might have to put 2 units on ur play to cover this bet if it loses. That is definitely information I should have looked at. If Leclaire isn't in net, I'm kinda worried.

Thanks

Tampa lost pretty bad, but that's okay. Now I'm just hoping Columbus gets a win, but so far they aren't playing too offensively.

Tampa and Columbus both lost so my new record is 6-5-1. Those shootouts kill me.
