Default anyone using phone or palm device to wager wireless...

Are you happy with this option?

What would your wireless provider charge you per month for example:
- viewing all hoops, football, and hockey lines 3-4 times per day
- making 3-4 wagers per day

I know WWTS and Ladbrokes use this, any other books?

Thanks in advance.

2MW--

I have a Kyocera 7135 Smartphone, kind of a combination Phone/Palm PDA/wireless device/MP3 player. I love this thing, and bought a keyboard attachment to it which I use lots for emails etc. while I'm travelling. While I use it to track scores in games via the wireless net ($49 per month for unlimited wireless), I'm still working on finding out how to make reception of the web pages more palm friendly. Generally, I've been able to access most password erlated sites to check lines or see what my guy's picks are, but when it comes to placing my action I haven't needed to try it yet because I'v ebeen close enough to a land line where I could go on line.

I don't know which books have designed their sites to be more palm friendly, but I am able to track the lines at Pinn and Oly on my wireless smartphone with a bit of tweaking. I just haven't entered my password and made a play via the device yet, though I'll eventually test that.

I find myself doing a lot of google searches for "Palm freindly web pages" etc to get to sites that are more streamlined for wireless use. I just got my pasword from collegesports.com yesterday, along with cbssportsline, so I'll see what kind of additional value that brings.

Good luck!

Kyocera 7135 is about $350, I think. Depends how many incentives you get when you buy it-- the monthly wireless fee is $50, I believe, and I run the Verizon phone bills through a combined business plan, so they're not much

If it's just scores you want, a pager may be the best way to go. But I like the one device concept and I use this smartphone for everything--there are some good writeups on different products at epinions.com

I figure I need to buy the latest greatest gizmo every two years or so, but knowing how to use these types of things keeps you ahead of the curve, so to speak. So it's worth it to me

I recently bought a $40 office kit from Verizon. It plugs into the USB port on my laptop, and the other to my cell phone. I use it to dial up my local provider. Connection is slow, (19K), but I am only on it a few minutes to check lines and make wagers. Very handy while on the road. Just airtime minutes is all it costs. No monthly fee, and of course weekends and nights are free.

I'm having good success with the eudora web browser, and I've been able to monitor lines and place bets on line with no problem. Getting it down to a science now, which is good because I'm not always around a computer in the daytime to monitor the action

Also highly recommend buying the insurance for the phone at $4 per month, in case you lose it. You'll have one to you the next day
