Purely SUBJECTIVE opinion and not NBA since I play mostly college: The last few years in college baskets it seemed to hold true for me quite a bit more than 50% of the time that a decent team down by double digits of say15 or more would close the gap significantly in 2nd half. But I would add that it certainly helps to watch the first half and know why the gap developed, foul trouble, injury, lights out 3 pt. shooting unlikely to continue, etc. I'm sorry I don't have figures for you though.
The greater the gap at halftime the more likely it would be cut into in the second half provided the game was not a total mismatch to begin with. Home team down helps even more. Not a system but common sense. |
