what % of OT games have a goal scored in OT ?

55,33% (301/544) over the past 2 seasons (finish tied). This seems a bit low so perhaps someone could verify it. I just used the T's and OTL's in the final standings.

Nostromo's #s look right.

I only have a partial DB (missing some late season games) on this computer and it shows 55.6% last season (up until March 17th - I guess I got drunk on St. Paddys day and haven't sobered up since).

Looks like the switch to 4 on 4 and the automatic 1 point has really hurt the chances of landing tied.

See PMcK's post, just divide OTs by games.

Looks like the rule change (1 pt for OT loss) had the effect of increasing the number of games that actually go into OT. At best, there is only a very slight decrease in games that end in ties. I think the whole idea of incenting teams to end regulation in a tie is stupid ... undesirable things start happening when the games are not zero-sum.

You're bang on deepsouth especially later in the season. The rule changes afforded more incentive for teams to get to OT and then try to win, than to just try to win.
