Default Are some "squares only" books of value even if you can't/won't play there?

Many shops that have a reputation for booting sharps are raked over the coals at this and other sites. My opinion is those who have been booted are "out to ruin" them since they are of no use to them anymore!

But can't they be useful in that a few seem to move on action. Since the action is all "square action" they can be a barometer of which games the "square steam"( I invented another phrase ) is going. So those who would fade square action have a vehicle to gauge it by - even if to just play off of it elsewhere.

I personally don't get much into "move reading", as it is too time consuming for my lazy azz, but it would seem to me that those that do would want to keep these books around for that purpose! Maybe they do and their consistent bashes in forums are really nefarious attempts to keep all educated bettors away and keep the book's clientele all square to continue to have a "readable out". I am always interested to see when the "square side" becomes the underdog instead of the favorite. I usually look at Intertops. According to their lines, Maryland was the "square side" as the dog on the road at Duke in hoops last season.

I think the squarest lines are Intertops, SportsInteraction, Gameday, and Bowman's. These books have the prerequisites of being large in customer base, small in limits, and willingingness to cripple-limit, boot, or sharp-line winners.

That being said, I wouldn't ever knee-jerk on the opposite side of them. SIA, after all, was the only place I saw with the Pats at +13.5 in LY's Super Bowl.

pokerjoe,
Those were the kind of shops I was referring too. I KNOW that GD sharp-lines players, being on that profile myself, and they've admitted it on RX several times. I am almost positive ITOPS and SIA don't do that! I don't know about Bowmans. SIA and ITOPS let you see lines w/o signing in and they are monitored by several line services and all show the same lines. They are involved in the other things though!
