Default 2007 College Football Pick Season long thread

Starting off slow this week. Playing two games tonight very lightly

Temple/Navy under 52 - Temple's defense is getting a whole lot better. Golden is getting some strong recruits and he is improving the talent level of this team. The strength of the team is the defensive line. They should do well slowing down Navy's attack.

Temple's offense is putrid though. The only way this goes over is with a lot of turnovers, which is possible this early in the season.

under 52 1 unit

Washington -3

Mostly a play against a Cuse team that is terrible and not getting any better! Washington is no great shakes either, but they have more talent than the Cuse.

1 unit

Good stuff mjh218. So happy football is here.

A completely homer play for me Kansas -8--been watching practices and I think they are a lot better. Defense is very good.

Buzzy,

Thanks, I am happy as well. Unfortunately b/c of the Big 10 network I have to go to a bar at 8:45am to watch the game. No play on the PSU game for me, this is a name your score type game. FIU is ok on D, and terrible on O. Doubt Joepa will run it up, maybe a 44-10 or 44-7

WMU/WVU over 58...WVU averaged in the 60's last year in their home games. Their offense is just stacked! The WVU team plays very little D, but that won't matter against most of their schedule. 2 units

Virginia -3....big talent mismatch here. 2units

Oregon -16.5...Houston had a steady 4 year starter who played the same offense in high school. Now they look to replace him with a qb with 0 experience. Oregon can score and should not have to play a whole lot of D. 2 units

Wake +6.5 (bought early in the week) ACC champs getting no respect. 1 unit

Az +3.5....just a hunch that the new stoops offense can do just enough to beat the mormons 1 unit

Tenn +7..I will take a TD with a team that absolutely dismantled the other team last year. 2 units

4-4...a few games certainly did not go the way I had them capped, Virginia and AZ put up poor performances!

-.6 thus far..

Will play Clemson at home tonight plus the 4 points. Bobby Bowden has proven himself unable to coach offensive talent. Their qb is so so at best. Clemson has better RB's and should get a lift in a real tough stadium to play in.

2 units

5-4 plus 1.4 units for the season...lets see if we can get this going

Boise/Washington over 58....Washington showed some offense at the Cuse last week and Biose should be able to put a bunch up as well. Thinking it will be a shootout as neither team is that great on D. 2 units

BC -13.5...BC players probably a bit hurt that their coach left them to take the NCST job. NCST is a bad team and lost to UCF at home last week. BC didn't play that well last week, especially early, and got a solid W against a Wake team that is a bunch better than NCST. Matt Ryan has a field day, BC by 20+ 3 units

Georgia -3.5....S. Carolina's qb situation is a complete mess. Georgia will win this one going away 3 units

Buff/Temple under 45.5...two really bad offenses. without turnovers this one is 14-10 or 10-7. Should be as ugly as last year when buff won 9-3. 2 units

TCU +10 ...like this gritty TCU team who will not be pushed around by Texas. Not a Colt McCoy fan and Texas did not look impressive last week v. Ark St. I had this game pegged before the season.. 2 units

cincy -7

Purdue -21

Ohio St -3.5 (3 units)

Kan/Toledo over 64

Lou/Kent over 74 (can't make this total high enough)

Neb +10

10-11 for the year...

-4.9 units

going to be a bit busy this weekend, so posting the plays today

Tulsa +24 (maybe 24.5 if it gets that high) - Feel like Tulsa will be able to score enough points to keep this one somewhat close. Oklahoma has been firing on all cylinders, think they hit a little bit of a bump tonight. 2 units

Indiana +2.5...Like this team, they are playing hard. I had Indiana pegged as one of my dark horses in the Big 10.

Washington +6 - Olsen got beat up this week, not sure that he is playing this week. Washington should have a good opportunity to bounce back after the loss to OSU last night. 2 units

PSU -2.5 - Michigan has owned PSU for a very long time. Michigan's D can't put any pressure on opposing qb's. Given time, Morelli will disect the Michigan D. If Henne plays I can't imagine him making it through the whole game. He is not going to be very mobile and PSU can really get at the qb. PSU 31-Mich 17 3 units

Purdue -13.5 - Minny is BAD

ayep, Olsen is out MJ:

"Ben Olson, who took a beating in the loss at Utah, won't be available against the Huskies. He had recurring headaches and missed practices this week."

i think Laurinaitis single-handidly beat the Dawgs. he's got the be the most dangerous linebacker anywhere?

UCLA has won 8 outta the last 10, but the Dawgs beat them last year in Seattle. problem w/the Dawgs is that they're almost always leading and let UCLA come back. sounds like the Seahawks MO

hopefully Locker passes tighter this week and doesn't have any INTs. if he does, i expect they'll win ...

i'm pullin w/ya on the Lions too!! Good luck
