| Hartley, How did you know those names.. The tunes were familiar, but the names sure aren't.. Scott, My guess for #6 would be New Kids on the Block, but since you specified "artist" singular.. Bruce Springstein? I like "I've found someone of my own" but no idea who the one hit wonder was.. I'll take another crack at the disco tune with "Fly Robin Fly" (UGH) or "Macho Man"? The Bump?? lol.. bringing back weird memories here.. Fixer.. "I just want to be your everything?" Andy Gibb [This message has been edited by Minnow (edited 01-19-2001).]

Minnow, Stop commin' on to Fixer in my thread(LOL). Fixer? Minnow, don't think so, because "Everything" came out pre Sat Nt Fvr.....and incorrect on #6, and the first Disco record to go #1 Pop, which was 9/78-"There's no time to waste, let's get the show on the road". This was the first disco record that had a short version recorded and released in emergency fashion so it could be played on Top 40 Radio. It quickly shot to #1.....That gives it to you Fixer, but leave it for someone else.......

Scott the last 2 are easy. Life is a Rock was sung by Reunion and the first video played on MTV was Video Killed the Radio Star - a one hit wonder. But I'm still trying to guess the disco questions. First #1 disco song, three more come to mind -D'ya think I'm sexy by Rod Stewart -Rasputin by Boney M. -I love the Nightlife by Alicia Bridges Also the 12" single? Was it Stevie Wonder or the Jackson 5? BTW, here's a couple for you Who sang Convoy? and Which song made it in the top 10 on the billboard charts but was actually written as a joke song for a morning radio show?

OK I'm going to take one more stab at numbers 9 and 10 and then I'll give up. Two songs come to mind in 1974 -Rock the boat and Rock your baby I don't know if those were considered disco but I'll soon find out. Also the 1992 song at the top of the charts for 13 weeks is probably something by Michael Jackson. I'll guess Beat It. Ronbets, the advertising song that comes to mind is "I'd like to teach the world to sing" which of course was a coke comercial but I don't believe that was by a single male performer. Let me take a guess at the "been around" singer then and say Sammy Davis Jr. with Candy Man although I don't know which candy that would be an advertisement for.

Hartley, Paul Anka did a commercial for Eastman-Kodak featuring the tune "Times of Your Life". He'd sing the tune while reminising old photos taken with his Kodak camera. The song caught on and become million seller. A real talent. Plays the Mirage often.

Ronbets the song that was running through my mind was Volare from that Plymouth Volare commercial but I didn't think that was Paul Anka. Scott, Heartbeat its a Lovebeat was sang by the DeFranco family. I still remember those polyester jumpsuits they wore.

OK Scott here's a little 70's trivia for you - a lot different from disco. Which "rebellion" song had the following verse: >> The second mate was Andy By Christ, he had a dandy Till they crushed his cock On a jagged rock For cumming in the brandy << [This message has been edited by Hartley (edited 01-20-2001).]
