| Scott, you must be really bored....... Stealers Wheels is "Stuck In The Middle With You" Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right....... I don't know the lead singer, although I want to say a young Bob Dylan........ First #1 POP DISCO song: my guess would be Last Dance, Donna Summer since you wanted a question: What is the only #1 hit song in the movie Saturday Night Fever, that is not on the soundtrack? |
| |||
| Minnow, If you think that song stays in your head, try the answer to #2, which is "Stuck In The Middle With You". Still need more info on that one. #3 is Marty Robbins, 6 is NOT Madonna, 7 is Debbie Gibson. (Name the Song, not "Only In My Dreams"), 8 is a busted Hammer........Fixer, great guess on Donna Summer, but she peaked at #2 one month prior to the answer, before striking gold with the remake of Richard Harris' MacArthur Park in OCT of that same year.........Back overnight to update. Enjoy. Minnow, what song is "STUCK" in your head now?(LOL)........Frog, I'll have something for ya..... |

| Scott, I was trying to think of the #1 disco/pop one, so now I have "ring my bell" stuck in my head, interspersed with "stuck in the middle with you".. i think i need a good brain defrag! lol ps.. not YMCA, right?

| OK Scott I'll have a go. #4 "It Never Rains in Southern California" - Albert Hammond First 12" disco single - How about The Hustle? First #1 disco song - Play that funky music white boy by Wild Cherry? Or was that disco? If not, then how about Disco Inferno or Shake Your Booty? BTW, did you know you can book KC and the Sunshine Band for private parties? I saw them advertised one time on tv. |

| UGH Minnow, I had to blast my car radio to get Anita Ward's Ring My Bell out of my head! Was that your revenge?(LOL). As a DJ, I had to play that, Feels Like I'm In Love, Raining Men, So Many Men, all songs I hated, repeatedly. I've donated all those records to the FixerWins Foundation, along with YMCA, The Butt, and The Electric Slide(LOL)....... Hartley barrels across the streel and nails Albert Hammond! Mah man! Hey Fixer, who always says "Mah Man"? Too easy! Yeah, a lot of us are bored, or still suffering from stomach cramps due to Cal Santa Horrible! Still unanswered=1,2,5,6,9,10.......Fixer, you stumped the quizmaster. I'll take some educated guesses and assume it was written by the Brothers Gibb(Bee Gees) That leaves me with these 3 from 1978---Shadow Dancing or Thicker Than Water by Andy Gibb, or Emotion by Samantha Sang. 1978 was a monster year for pop music. |

| Scott: Thunder Island was by Joe Ferguson Magnet and Steel ws by Walter Egan Chris Rea song I believe was 'Fool if you think it's over' BTW, the 12" single wasn't the hustle? I remember Rapper's Delight was a 12" single also but I believe that was later. |

|
quote:[/size]
Originally posted by Scott Landau: 7-And 2 months later, who became the first teenager to write, produce, and sing a #1 tune?

Debbi Gibson - Electric Youth is the album and the #1 single has the same name. |

| WOW! Nice work Hartley. Correct on all 3. It was 'Jay' Ferguson. Rapper's Delight was ripped off from Chic's 'Good Times', so no where near being the first 12" single. Another Hint: This song went #1 Pop in 11/74, 8 months pre Hustle. The "45" version of course. The 12" version was more than 10 mnutes long. It was knocked out of #1 by Kug Fu Fighting(Karl Douglas). Other big hits that month were You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet(BTO), Tin Man(America), John Lennon's Whatever Gets You Through The Night, and more, but I'm saving them for later questions..........Benson, right girl, wrong song. |
