Default college hoops 2/7

BEST BETS (1-1)(-0.30 UNITS)

TOTAL (3-3)(-0.60 UNITS)

BEST BETS (16-18)(-11.40 UNITS)
STRONG PLAYS (23-27)(-13.40 UNITS)
REGULAR PLAYS (22-23)(-3.30 UNITS)

OVERALL (58-65)(-27.50 UNITS)

I hate the Big 12! It does not matter who I take, it loses. I should go back to all my posts and see what my Big 12 record is. I am willing to bet that I only win 25% of my games and that is being generous, probably more like 15 percent.

I went 3-3 total, going 1-1 in each type of rating I use. Even a split in my Bif 12 games would have made me a winner for the night. Of course there are two Big 12 games I like tonight (Oklahoma and Kansas St), so the smart money will be on Okie St and Kansas. I even thought about fading myself on these two games but I know as soon as I do that I would of originally had two winners.

Do I sound a little frustrated to you? It has just been that type of year. I normally am not this bad in college hoops. This is usually my strongest sport. Although I am pretty good in bases and they are right around the corner, GO PHILLIES! I won both in college and pro football this year, and I think that is a first for me to have a winning season in pro football, so maybe this is payback by the gambling gods for letting me have my first nfl winning season. Lets try this one more time, I really like tonights card.

Kansas St +11 vs Kansas (best bet)……….Glad I waited on this one as the line in now at 11, although I would have gladly taken the 10. Kansas St is one of the hottest teams in the country right now. Kansas does not seem like the dominating team we are used to seeing. Kansas has owned Kansas St over the years, but this may be the best K-St team we have seen. Kansas St finally went into Kansas and beat them last year, so they if nothing else should not be intimidated. I hope this is not like the game where I grabbed Okie St plus a bunch of points at Kansas earlier, cause Kansas won by 30 I think in that one. This just smells like a great, close game to me.

Oklahoma -5.5 vs Oklahoma St (best bet)………..I must be nutz taking two Big 12 games as my best bets tonight with my poor history of this conference. Call me stubborn and stupid I guess. The sooners have played very well at home this year, while the cowboys have been horrible on the road. They have not even played a road game that was really close this year. My gut tells me the sooners really lay it on the cowboys tonight by 15 or more.

St Louis +9.5 vs Xavier (strong play)………This time waiting cost me a ½ point as this line was 10 this morning. It always scares me going against Xavier at home, but St Louis is playing some pretty good ball right now and they have played very well vs the X-men. Just feel like this is too many. Xavier wins a squeeker tonight.

C Florida -4.5 vs E Carolina (strong play)……………..Hope this is not a suckers but, because it looks too easy. I looked and looked and I cannot find a reason to take E Carolina in this one. C Florida is that much better. This probably will not be a blowout since it is at E Carolina, but it could very well be. We don’t need a blowout…..just a five point win will do.

Alabama -3.5 vs Mississippi St (strong play)…………..I am playing a third strong play tonight, usually I don’t, but this just deserves some more than a regular play for me. I have been burned with Bama before at home, but not tonight. They are way overdue to put it all together in front of the home folks, and tonight is the night. Nothing special at Miss St on the road. Great value with this line only being 3.5

Purdue -1.5 vs Michigan St (regular play)………No doubt Mich St is the better team and they usually handle Purdue, but I will take a small wager on the boilermakers at home tonight. Purdue keeps finding ways to win at home this year. They are probably not as good at home as their record indicates, but they find ways to win and the line is pretty much just asking them to win. That being said watch them win by one tonight, I will be sick.

St Johns -3.5 vs S Florida (regular play)……………..Not sure why I like this one so much. Neither team that great this year. I just feel like home court makes the huge difference in this game and the line is fairly low. Just a gut feeling play for me here.

Taking a pass on the Carolina/Duke game. I can see Carolina doing a number on them and I can see Duke winning by 1-3 points. Keep going back and forth, so I will take a pass. I think Duke is flying under the radar a bit this year, people act like they suck all of a sudden. True this might be the worst duke team we have seen in a while, but Carolina/Duke anything is possible…..don’t ever forget that.

Good Luck Everybody!!

Mark - Great call w Alabama and I agree. My SEC friend is telling me to jump on Auburn +11 vs Arkansas. I'm staying away from those other games but feel very strongly about UNC over Duke.

I believe UNC has better athletes, a deeper bench, and will be more emotionally fired up over their lose to NC. St. UNC will not drop games to two of their rival foes in one week. I'm taking it to the bank and we'll see if I'm crying in my cornflakes tomorrow morning. Good luck

Great write ups!
