2nd Worst Line of the Week: Why is Iowa only 9 point favorites over Joe Pa?

I will look rather silly if Cal and Penn State cover, but I think 9 is very reasonable to lay on Iowa at home. No one talks much about Iowa but they are much improved.

They've blown out two lowly opponents so far (although Miami of Ohio did come back to beat Cincinnati who would give Penn State some trouble), I think they will really be up for this game.

Meanwhile, PENN STATE, as I said last week, has major problems on the OL and DL and in the skill positions.

This is NOT your father's Nitney-Lions.

Lay the 9.

Agree, big play, Iowa will be way up for this game, Penn State name still matters to them and will fire them up. Iowa City is interested in football again. PSU is a joke right now. They have to get a little better eventually, but you could do worse than continually playing against them until they do. Plus, no team wants to be the one to give Joe Pa that win.

Iowa has looked like a machine their first couple of games. This could be a nice statement game for the Hawkeyes.

yep,their a real power house!! they will win,but i'll take the 10 pts. paterno will have his team ready for this game. iowa is better than last year, but they still have a ways to go to get out of the bottom half of the big ten. i'am the only person in iowa that hate's um!

I have to go with Hiptwo on this. I have Penn State +10. Penn State has played a much stronger schedule and they will contain McCann.

I'm with Turko. Iowa is a gift. Penn State can't tackle, get a first down, run a pattern, throw a pass, score a touchdown, recruit a linebacker, nothing... absolutely nothing left. I look at their schedule and wonder who they can beat this year. They are completely finished. They don't believe in themselves, how can we.

Not so fast...I agree PSU has played terribly and is not the PSU of old. However these are not Scrubs on this team. I would think PSU keeps it close!

Oh well. Feel good about the capping of this. Fluke play cost the cover.
