Default Sampras

We all know that Peteie struggles on Clay. He finally won a match on Clay on Sunday. On Tuesday he lost to Saffin. Will Pete lose in the 1st round @ the French??? Is Pete washed up??? Will he win on Grass in London this year??? 3 questions that should be answered over the next 3 months.

Any opinions???

Thank You,
RackMan

personally i feel that pete doesn't quite have it anymore.
on clay he won't go past rd 2

but when it comes to wimbledon he will be set.
that's all he is really focusing on.

If Pete was a real Champion he would have one the most grueling major. But he is a gutless grandstander.

He has only won more Grand Slam tournemnts then anyone! Where in this is he gutless! He just can't play in clay. Borg never won the U.S. Open, and he is considerd one of the best!

Gutless? Just recall his quarterfinal against Corretja in US Open. I don't remember what year it was.

I am no fan of Sampras, but without doubt he is the greatest player in the tour now.

As to his chances in French Open, it depends on the draw of course. I doubt he can go too far, but he was in the semifinal there once, so who knows.

Why was he puking against Corretja,I tell you why,he eats like crap,he is too lazy to get in real top shape,he was not as sick as you think he was against Corretja,Pete is real big on the drama,he had the talent to win the French Open and didnt want to pay the price and to me that is gutless.

Call him gutless, call him the greatest ever. One thing is virtually certain, he has been one of the most overpriced sports entities of the year. Funny thing that gutless, given his guts were strewn about the grounds on several occasions.

It not his guts that are lacking in the French open but the skill to play on clay. The surface is just not suited for his game, too slow!

Railbird, are you saying that Sampras can't deal with the long rallies the Roland Garros requires?

he has the groundies to deal with the long rallies, but lacks the heart to get in true shape,I promise he will tank an early round match to watch the Lakers courtside defend their title,if he thought he could get away with it he would make up an injury not to play in this tournament.
