Plenty of seeds knocked out over the first round, but all in all it was fairly predictable, here's my best for Round 2.

Squillari over Santoro

Most players have now gotten used to santoro's awkward style of play and now simply overpower him, Squillari will keep him pegged back at the rear off the court, and the Frenchman will have his hands tied from that deep, look for the Argentine to dispatch him in two tight sets.

Vinciguerra over Santopadre

Magnus Norman is in horrid toucxh at present and this Swede, Vinciguerra should really give his opponent a touch up, Vinciguerra oozes talent and with a decent draw might finally make his mark this week.

Coria over lapentti

Happy to have this guy as my banker all season, bookies are starting to keep him pretty short, but i'd be shorter still.

Rusedski over Ferreira- Courts here are reasonably fast and the points will be here as well, not facing a true claycourter, Rusedski gets his chance and represents dood value.

Lleyton Hewitt has had a tough draw so far and things get no easier against Corretja, however Corretja's form of late has been no better than ordinary, and two wins over compatriots this week, does not really impress me, can't forget Hewitt's brilliant win over Kuerten in Brasil, and hope to see a rematch here in the quarters.

Ugly week, but the best tow claycourters in the world have come through for what should be a great final, would love to see Ferrero win this, and set up an exciting rivalry with Gustavo for the next few years on this surface, howewer still expect Kuerten to be too solid for him at this stage, they played a great match in Paris eleven months ago, and this could top it.
