First of all, my knowledge of tennis is "underdeveloped", in my opinion it takes too much time to follow the thing. But a match, that I like today is Andy Roddick against Stefan Koubek. I must admit I have heard nothing of this 18 year old American until Key Biscayne, where he eliminated Sampras. But what I am reading now is really impressiv. Last night he "destroyed" Meligeni, a sand specialist, 6:4 6:4, but the interesting thing is how: - Meligene had not one break-chance - Roddick won 40 !!!! of his 48 service points - his service speed of 200 km/h is said to be the best on this surface He must be in a terrific form, in the round before he won against T.Martin in two sets. And on the other side Koubek: - he had a hard play against Lee yesterday 7:6 (7/2) 6:7 (5/7) 6:1 - had luck a round before, where Michal Tabara retired after 3:3 in the first set. I have found Roddick at directbet at -150 - but normally in tennis Bookies know better than I do :-). There seem to be some experts around, any opinions ?

Golmard vs. Malisse 2 2.35 Intertops I think that the odds are too high on Malisse. Golmard seems to be back on track and he has several very confident wins this week, but Malisse's opponents (especially Ilie) were stronger in my opinion. I think it is going to be a much closer match than the odds suggest. Roddick vs. Koubek 1 1.67 Olympic It took Koubek three sets to beat O. Rochus and Lee. His third opponent Tabara withdrew at 3/3 in the first set. I know Koubek is a former champion here and he is good on clay, but I don't think he is back to his best form after an injury. Roddick is doing very well in this tournament so far. Both T.Martin and Meligeni may be far from their best form, but even assuming that Roddick's results look much better than those of Koubek.

Wow, Roddick destroyed Koubek 6:2 6:2. I think he is hot and can be only defeated by himself. If his service will be at this level in the final, I think Malisse will have too much problems with it. Koubek had absolutly no chance - he had only one chance to break the service of Roddick. I have taken Roddick, not only because I think he will win, but also because I have found a very good price at directbet (-125) and most other books have him at -140 to -180. Alec, where do you play ? I am wondering, because you have mentioned, you have bet Koubek to win in three sets in the first rounds and I know only one book, that offers set-bets that early.

KentBrockman, I didn't bet Koubek to win in three sets in early rounds. Thanks, nehpets. DirecBet had Roddick @-125 against Koubek? What I saw was 4/6. Or maybe you are talking about the final? In the final Malisse @2.25 (Olympic, Intertops) looks tempting, but I am a little bit intimidated by Roddick's "unbroken" record this week. So no bet for me.

Alec, of course I meant the final. I think I should read my posts, before sending and read the other posts before asking :-). I have asked about set betting because I considered taking Roddick 2:0 in the final - in my opinion, if his service is fine he will win by two sets and if his service is not fine he will loose. But I did not, because the best price for the 2:0, I found was only +150 and for the straight win -125.
