| Frog, Interactive wagering....other than being more addictive than Doritos is.....where there is a continually trading exchange for sporting events. In interactive Golf, you can buy or sell Golfer's as the tourney is being played. Any buy that wins is worth $100, any sell is worth whatever you receive at the time of the order, plus a total liability of $100 if the guy you sell wins. For example....if Hoch leads....if you think he will hold on, or for that matter just improve his position you can purchase him for 13$. If he wins you will receive $100 for every one you bought, if he improves you can sell later at a profit, if he tanks it, you can sell later at a loss. The converse is true also....you can sell him right now for $10, if you believe he will lose, in which case you would win the $10, of course if his play deteriorates, you could lock up profits as his price falls. But as long as you sell him, without buying back, you will be responsible for $100 if he hangs on. Lastly, the preferred strategy seems to be to sell multiple golfers (you only incur 1 liability as only one can win and cost you the $100)up to maybe $65 worth on Saturday or early Sunday and root for the choke. Or buy multiples of the same golfer, i.e. two of Hoch at $13 would cost $26 to win $200, and hope Hoch's price rises to $26, sell 1 for the $26, put the money in your pocket and have a free shot at the remaining one grabbing you the $100. There is good liquidity as I've traded upto 50 at a shot before, and come Sunday the take is usually down to 2.5-5%. TA [This message has been edited by The Actuary (edited 04-28-2001).]
