| Looks like it's going to be a long season for Montreal. Despite some fairly good pitching (currently ranked 5th in the Majors). Their Bull pen is 7th with a respectable 3.13 Era. Expos Offense gives the Pitching Staff little room for error. Currently last (30th) in hitting. Team Batting Average.194 Average. Runs per At-Bat: 20.3 HR's per At-Bat: 55.2 With this kind of good pitching and anemic hitting, it's no surprise that they've complied a 9-3 Under Record so far this season. The loss of Evertt weakens them even more. When's the last time you can remember the Double play combo's batting 3rd and 4th (the Cleanup Spot)? Neither player would be considered the typical Power Hitter usually found in those batting positions. This line up is particularly vulnerable to Lefties. Would plan on fading this team often this season. (1) Away (Especially in Hitters Ball Parks) (2) vs. Good Lefties (vs. Willis for example) (3) Vs. Good Offensive Teams (St.Louis for instance) Would look for Under Situations: Hernandez, Vargas and Day are their Top 3 Starters. Ohka has gotten off to a poor start. Would advoid taking Unders til he's pitching better. Would imagine Under do better when facing other good pitch/weak hit teams (Philadelphia) Pitcher's Ball Parks (when facing good pitching). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not much of an edge either on the Side or Total. Ohka and Yates both have Era's Above +5.00 and WHIP Over +1.50 Mets only hitting .237 vs. Righties Montreal .186 vs. Righties Montreal could actually win here. Wouldn't count on those batting averages to get the Over done though. Should be some better opportunites later. good luck, baz |
