Default friday bases

(42-17)(+20.51 units) favorite bets
(16-24)(-4.04 units) underdog bets

(58-41)(+16.47 units) overall

Not much to choose from last night. I picked two favs and split them losing 0.43 units. I won with Colorado and Toronto and Halladay got blown out by the redsox. I am getting the feeling some dogs are going to start coming in. I have done so well with small favs and not they are stopping to lose a little bit for me. I might start searching for some dogs more than what I have. Here is what I came up with for Friday.

Phillies -116 vs Cubs……………My favorite phillies pitcher since Steve Carlton is on the mound tonight and I am not going to pass him up at home at this price vs the all of a sudden “we are hot/good team” Cubs. Cole Hamels vs Rich Hill. Hill has been pretty solid this year and has not really looked bad at all. That might change tonight at Citizen’s Bank Ballpark. I think the way Hill has thrown and the recent play of the Cubs is the reason this line is this low and I am going to take advantage of it. Cole Hamels looked bad his last game and still found a way to get the win. He seems very good at adjusting from game to game and I think he throws a gem tonight while the offense lights up the Cubs. Cubs have played some bad teams during their win streak. The phils might be a little over-rated themselves, but they are far from a bad team.

Dodgers -124 vs Cincinnati……………I love these small home favs with quality pitchers throwing. Reds not playing that well setting in last place and losers of 8 of 10. I have always been a big Randy Wolf fan from back when he was a phillie. Reds might have a small pitching advantage tonight, but I think Arroyo is due for a bad one, while Wolf is due for a good game. I just see plenty of value in playing the dodgers at home tonight.

San Fran -111 vs Colorado………….I actually cannot stand the Giants and Barry Bonds, but my money is on them tonight. This rookie Lincecum is going to be a great one. He flopped in his debut last Sunday vs the phillies, but he has all the stuff to be great. If you remember the Yanks rookie Hughes got bombed in his debut and then came back and almost threw a no hitter. I think with a game under his belt, his natural talent may come into play more so than the first one. I am just taking a shot on this kids talent even in a hitters park in Colorado. Of course it never hurts to turn Barry Bonds loose in a park like that either.

Detroit +178 vs Minnesota……………..Big pitching advantage for the twins in this one, or at least it might seem like that. Santana is not the same. I have to wonder is something is wrong with him. Santana is 2-2, 4.65 in four home starts this season. That might be decent for most pitchers, but not for him. The tigers seem to score a lot of runs for their pitcher. Detroit is 6-0 in Maroth starts, scoring 38 runs. Odds are this game will lose, but I am not going to pass up a red hot tiger team getting these kind of odds. Santana living a little bit on past history, at least according to the odds makers anyway.

Milwaukee +116 vs Mets…………I said I was going to try a few dogs because I have a feeling they might start coming in a little more. Even though the Brewcrew has the best record in the national league, I have read a ton about how they have not played anybody and this next three weeks will tell a lot about the rest of the season. That is a load of crap. Three weeks does not make a season this early in the year unless you go something like 2-14. Brewers might have a chip of their shoulder if they have been reading the newspapers. The mets are not rolling over people either, especially at home where they are only 7-7. As a matter of fact, I would say the brewers are the better team at this point in the season. Suppan rates a big edge of Sosa as well in my eyes. I will try this one.

Five games from me today. That is the most I have played in one day for a while. Three favs and two dogs. I can feel a really good day coming on, one of those undefeated days. Even with my good record, I have not had a really great day yet. I am due for one. Maybe I will get lucky and tonight is the night.

Good Luck Everybody!!
