Default Hawaiian Open

Now that we're starting the real season, it's time to get going.

Last week was a plus week, 3-0 on Taylor bets, and 2 losses by Bryant and Garcia.

The track this week is fairly standard, shortish, easyish, but with some OB's. Par 70, 2 par 5's, country club configured greens. Long and short hitters both do well here. If Els was here, he would be a shoe-in, with his 2 wins and a second, last 3, but he isn't playing this tourney.

This pushes Singh into the favorite slot, plus he's the defending champ. But this year isn't last year, and I believe Singh is somewhat shot, even with his great 4th round and playoff loss last week. So who to pick? Guys who play well here tend to play well here. And the opposite is true too.

I like last year's 3rd placer, Howell III, to win this deal. Decent odds, 25-1. I also like Vaughn Taylor at 51-1. Vaughn made the cut last year and did nothing, but he did well last week, solo 4th. Taylor is unkown to the bookmakers, for the most part, multiple winner in short field tourneys, and will have a monster year in '06.

I'll be taking Howell some, and Taylor a lot in the M/U's when they get posted. Ride-em cowboy, until he fades. You can always get plus odds on Taylor also. I'll post my M/U bets later. I'm also looking for Rose, B. Bryant and Atwal, depending on odds and opponent.

GL and let's get 'em.

The matchups for the Hawaiian are out and I took---

Lonard over Weir +104--- Going against Weir until he does something, anything. Pinny
Taylor over Glover -115---I like both of these guys, and Vaughn takes it in a walk. Pin

And for fun, a 5-ball---- Howell3 over Perry, Maruyama, Bryant, and Campbell...+400 SIA

Don't laugh your ass off, SIA is a must out, for golf. Two 5-balls coupled together often pay 25-1 or better. Have I ever hit one? Yes. Many.

Just not really in the swing yet.

Taking Stuart Appleby -140 over Bryant.

Would love to find a price on Stewart Cink Top 5.

Hey Buzz, give me a ring sometime. The "talking carrot" Sherm moved back here
stopped by the Warehouse the other day. Had that been a long time since I had
seen him. Toto
