Hey valueman, It's football season...That's why it's so quiet. I got down early on Tiger. I haven't seen him this low in about 5 years. +163 at Pinny looks like the best price now.

That's wierd - so know one gives a damn about golf once NFL starts. In Europe, interest fades a bit after the PGA but not alarmingly even though Soccer is in full swing.

Never really thought that Golf fans and bettors would be that bothered about NFL which has to be the worst watching spectacle sport given the high calibre of athletes it has. Made for commercial breaks. CFL is far more watchable but both pale into medicrity compared to the "real" man's game rugby.

I would love to see NFL players play Rugby - now that would be worth watching!

At one time WSEX stopped offering live golf once the NFL season started. Tough for golf to compete with weekend football in the states.

I'm down for this week. I was down last week too. I didn't do well last week either.

Hensby to win 67-1 GG

V. Taylor over Petro -115
V. Taylor over Van Pelt + 110

Tiger loses this week, Tiger misses the cut. There's no one in this tourney to beat, and he doesn't need the money.

I took Rose 49-1 WSEX.

I saw Rose close up a couple of weeks ago. Was maybe 10 feet from him as he drove one up the middle. He absolutely smashed it. I got a good look at his frame, and I have to say, it is perfect for golf. He's 6-2 or 3, long arms, and has some beef. He's young and he's good, soon to be a lot better.

Once Rose wins he could easily break through as Europe's top player - he has it all just needs the breakthough to confirm it in his mind.

I hate it when Tiger makes me look like a jackass. Nice first round, Tiger.

I knew that in the end, you would make me look like a great golf seer. Tiger. He needs Singh and Mick, or a major, to get up for his game. Fade Tiger in these low level tourneys.

Olin is looking good. I hope he wins it. Nice guy.

Rose sucks. You talk him up and denounce DiMarco? Guy falls out of it repeatedly. Doesnt even bother finishing second or third just falls away completely when the pressure is on

You must be talking to me Aly. But I'm not the one who beats up on DiMarco, I like the guy and I bet on him once in awhile. But I did talk up Rose, I like him too, even more than DiMarco.

Last 5 tournys for Rose---T22, T23, T15, 3, T27. He won a little under a half million with those finishes, and played them at 50 under par. His head to head record is outstanding for these last 5, and I went 8-0 with him. I didn't play him every round, depended on who he was matched up with.

One of these days, Rose will break through. When he eliminates the one poor round, he will win. He's young and he's single, he has girls all over him. At least he did at Reno. Paid no attention to them on the course, after the round, who knows?

I saw this close up. Rose is teeing off, addressing the ball, and someone directly behind him, maybe 20 feet away, moved. He backed off the ball, glanced at his caddy, who said in a low voice, "take your time", readdressed the ball and smashed it. What he didn't do is glare or even look at the mover, get upset, stomp around, smash the driver into the ground, or any one of many negative things I've seen before. This shows me focus, I was impressed, and I'm not easily impressed.

Sorry if what I said, cost you. He'll make it up to you, I bet.

Alysheeba - Agreed Rose isn't exactly a prolific winner and personally I never play him. All I'll say is that he has a lot of game for a 25 year old - he is mentally weak no doubt but has time to conquer that and become a winner like the Perry's of this world.

Rose has had 4 international wins while DiMarco has had 4 if you include Nationwide so it's a fair bet that Rose will have more victories before he hangs up his boots.

Betting wise I'd back neither but may look more closely at Rose once he can get his head in front. I don't like to try and catch a players first PGA win as it is an expensive win but am happy to ride on slightly shorter odds once they have convinced me they have the winning temperament.

DiMarco is 37 so hardly a fair comparison. I don't want to drag on this matter so let's move on to something else more topical.

Much harder to win on the PGA tour than any other tour. Not even close.

Fields are much deeper
