Default NEC Golf>>>

Firestone CC in Akron, Ohio is a great layout. It can definitely be classified as a Tiger course. Just think its very tough to go against him in a short field on his type of course. Mickelson has played well here in the past but I think this is all Tiger.

Tiger to win 3/1

More later.

I think it's futile going against Tiger in this - he was 2nd last year and playing nowhere near the golf he is this year.

Grab the best odds, sit back and enjoy - think he might win by a bunch. 3/1 would be nice - where??

This looks like Tiger's tourney to lose. He plays excellent here. These are the guys I felt would have value here at Firestone. Toms, DiMarco, Howell3, Tway, and Westwood. Howell and Tway are not in the field, and I feel DiMarco has the best price per chance ratio.

DiMarco to win 81/1--GG

Toms over Perry -121
Westwood over Bjorn -105
Westwood over Appleby -102
DiMarco over Maruyama -150
DiMarco over Clarke +105 All Pinny

YTD---Down a dime for 30 tournaments, and a few Euros, and a few Seniors. Dime and a half loss on outrights (have not won once this year) 500 profit on matchups. Have not withdrawn nor re-upped any of my 4 accounts this year. This time last year, my records say I was up 3 dimes and won 3 outrights.

Playing Howell III, Appleby, Bjorn and Luke Donald in my outrights. Even have some Phil on the back to back.

Two underdog tourney match ups at Pinny for me:

2 units on Darren Clarke +102 v. Luke Donald

1 units on S. Appleby +144 v. Davis Love III

I heard an interview with VJ yesterday and he says the course is tough and the rough is up almost as bad as Baltusrol.

In view of this I've had to rethink as driving accuracy may be more important than I initially thought.

K Perry @ 44.65/1 @ Betfair net of commission seems very fair to me. have already played Tiger @ 5/2.

DiMarco with a real shot here. Been buying him for two days. Could get him at 1 at start of the day!.

Only guy playing well. His putter has been amazing. His misses are burning the cup.

Would be a big statement for him to win this.

Lets root him home Tommyjay

Those two putts at 17 and 18 hurt. God his putting was so on today. Burning the cup repeatedly.

In at 5 under. That may be enough the way Tiger is playing. At worst I think a playoff.

Damn. That one hurt. DiMarco did what he had to do. I guess Tiger did as well. Let's get 'em next week.

What can I say, DiMarco finds a way not to win again. Played very well but again couldn't put his head in front. What's that 88 starts since his last win?

LOL, just what I need valueman coming in with a gotcha after a tough loss.

If you think DiMarco blew it you werent watching the same tourney I was. Compare his round to the others.

Alysheeba - no one's saying he played badly but again he finds one too good. The stats don't lie - 88 starts without a win from the world number 7 - top class stuff.

Aly, I'm sure not gonna say anything... now that I know the V-man has a "BSc in a stats-related discipline", I just defer to his assessments in all matters statistical.

As for the "he finds one too good", well sure... if DiMarco were a real competitor, he would have been back out on the course, screaming "Noonan" at Tiger as he finished up, three holes and forty-five minutes behind DiMarco. Only wussses sit passively on a clubhouse lead, eh?

Vijay Singh is another choking dog: shot a 67, and couldn't even get past DiMarco.

I'm seeing golf in a whole new light these days... thanks to my new stats-savvy mentor, the V-Man.

mr-heem - i think your argument about VJ is about as valid as a $3 dollar bill.

Dimarco is 0-88 and world #7
VJ is 19-108 since 2002 - not my idea of a choker.

My definition of a choker since you bring it up is a player who gets himelf into winning positions on numerous occasions and for whatever reason doesn't manage to put his head in front. in my eyes it has nothing to do with falling apart under pressure - that is only one way to choke IMO. they find a way not to win whether it be shooting a 63 in the final round or an 83.

Anyway what do i care you guys keep backing dogs like DiMarco and complaining about what bad beats you get, I'll keep collecting and counting the dough - lol!
