Default European Tour- Open de Sevilla, Spain- Official Picks Thread>>

If you have any opinions on the European tour event please post in this thread.

I would guess I am taking Jose Maria Jiminez or whatever his name is-since is from Spain and didn't play in the Masters and he is about the only Euro tour player I know.

THE EVENT
A new tournament on the European Tour international schedule, the Open de Sevilla, will be played at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla in Spain this week. The event was co-ordinated with very little notice and carries a prize fund of 1,000,000 Euros with a first prize of 166,660 Euros. The introduction of the Open de Sevilla means that Spain will host two tournaments back to back, with this event being followed by the Canarias Open de Espana. The same course will also host the World Golf Championships - World Cup in November this year.Headlining this week's field is Spanish Order of Merit Leader Miguel-Angel Jimenez.Joining him will be a relatively weak field which includes Dredge, Remesy and McDowell.
THE COURSE
Located at Montequinto, three kilometers south of Seville, the course was designed by two-time Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal and opened in 1992.It measures 7,140 yards (6,529 metres) with a par of 72.Its highly balanced design makes it an excellent venue for any high-level competition, be it amateur or professional.
OTHER POINTS
* Full credit goes to Jimenez who is supporting this new event in his homeland.Jimenez has a very imposing record in Spain, which includes four wins.
* Relatively little is known about this course, so a punter wealth warning is issued!
PAST WINNERS
This is the inaugural event.
