Default PGA Championship @ Baltusrol>>

Major time.

Play against Tiger I guess--

Retief great tourney in Colorado

Tim Clark like the way he is playing

Short Mickelson I guess

Vijay the defender - who should love this course.

We're thinking the same ole buddy. Goose over Mick, Hensby over Cabrera,
Also can take Toms to finish 22nd or better. Had a beer with Townie last
night, too bad your not closer. Lots of old tales from"the good old days".

Had a good look at this and IF the rough is nasty like they say it is then we've got to swerve Tiger.

My short list were:

Perry - too short in odds. Was hoping for around 50/1 but no such luck.
Singh - as above
Allenby - never wins
Garcia - possible but again 25/1 not great value
O'Hair - 120/1 ish seems about right
Goosen - Too short in odds (wish he had done nothing last week)
Mahan - doesn't believe he can win
Mayfair - forgotten how to win (great stats though)
Durant - 6th sense says he'll play well but he can't win either

These are the players that thought would be suited by the course and demands. The odds look about right so I might just do Mayfair, Allenby and Mahan and hedge out in running as they won't win. 120/1, 125/1 & 740/1 respectively. basically I like the tourny but the odds look very accurate so not very excited.

I would feel silly backing Perry and Singh now at their respective odds when I knew a long time back that these would be #1 & #2 picks for me and having missed the 60/1ish and 14/1ish I can't really play them.

Like the odds on Phil. Know he has played poorly but then again thats why he is favorable odds.

Also like Tim Clark, Stuart Appleby, JD,. Bo Van Pelt and Lucas Glover. Know the latter two are stretches, but then again they are 300 plus-1 shots.

In order of preference I like Appleby, Phil and then Clark.

This course is flat, when they're not playing golf here, they practice landing airplanes. The rough is supposed to be difficult, but we all know that rough is not much of a problem for today's pros. The long grass just holds up balls that would find real trouble, like the oak tree forest. All the greens are level to the fairway, not a common sight anymore, and great for low hitters that like to bounce it up there. Longish, but in my opinion, not that difficult. Has the look of a hundred year old track, just pumped out a little. Made my pick a month ago, and I'm still happy with it.

Perry to win 34-1

Mick over Goose +107 Goose got lucky, didn't play well enough to win last week but he did. The other players lost it to him.

Furyk over Toms -128 Both on the downswing, Toms moreso though.

Perry over Harrington -137 I could have gone the other way here, backing my man.

Mayfair over Verplank +121 Got the wrong guy favored here, thanks for the free money.

Hensby over Cabrera -123 Hen hot Cab not.

O Hair over Olgilvy -102 Sean just keeps winning for me every week. Had him in a 5-ball parlay last week with Mayfair, and they came in at 19.30/1 Saved the whole disastrous week for me. Love this guy here.

Howell over Campbell +103 Howell is warming up fast. I expect to be playing him a lot in the next few months. Last year he got hot and I rode it hard. He made me a ton.

I also have 4-5ball bets with Perry, Hensby, O Hair, and Howell as my picks.

Finished off by taking Roberts and Langer in a round 1, 3-ball parlay, 5to1.

I went a little berserk this week, but what the Hell, I'm rich, I can afford it. JK

Good luck golf brothers---let's get 'em this week.

Tiger is basically done already.

On a course where you need to drive straight he is going to continue having problems. At courses like Augusta and St Andrews he will continue to dominate

So far so good with Appleby and Phil both on top. Clark really f'ed up those few holes. JD not out of it. Even my Bo Van Pelt bomb has a shot. Dont know what happened to JD's putting. Used to be a strength. VJ is in good position, didnt play great but is right there. Howell III played well also.

A bunch of my favorites going off early tomorrow. Will follow Appleby and Phil's group. They go off close to each other so will take turns. In the afternoon will probably look for a nice spot somewhere and chill. But want to walk the course in the morning. The course is awesome. Hard. But fair. Not tricked up at all. The best course of the four majors from what I have seen. Sure the St Andrews and Augusta fans will faint at that.

Just got back a little while ago. What a course. Man was it hot.

Followed Phil's round, hole by hole, and then in the afternoon picked a few quieter holes and watched a bunch of different guys. Had a great time. Got some amazing close ups. Sergio really is a an arrogant prick. Saw it first hand.

Phil really locked in. Shocked Tiger made the cut. He looked dead in the water out there.

Strange day. Some great rounds early, nothing late.

Bit uneasy going into the final round.

I mean if you told me coming in that Phil and Appleby would be where they are I would be very happy. But D Love scares me the way he has been playing. Could easily have had two or three more birdies. Dont know what to make of Phils round. Was awful first 7-8 holes, but then settled down. Thought he would get it to 8 under but couldnt do it. Dont know if thats his bad round or if a bad sign of things to come. Should be an exciting finish

Strange day indeed. Strange whole tournament. The course and greens aren't that hard, yet it's playing very tough. After day 1, I was looking pretty good. After day 2, I was even better, and it looked like a cruise to winning. At the cut line, I had 1 win, 1 loss, and 1 DNS, the remaining 4 were leading or close. My free money guy, Mayfair, forgot to show up, missed the cut, lost. I felt Perry had a chance to win, he was in position, esp. since Tiger apparently played himself out of contention.

Day 3, and everything flip-flops. O Hair tanks, and Howell, Mick, and Perry barely hold. I need 2 of my 5-balls and 2 match-ups to win, just to break even. Unless of course, if Perry comes in the top 5, I'll be OK.

I haven't played any dailys, I can't figure out what's going to happen. The rough seems harder than it should be, and the bunkers are easier than normal. There's a lot of water stuck in places it doesn't belong. The windmill hole, the volcano, and the clown's mouth, just toss in extra jokers. If this wasn't the PGA, this would be kind of a cool tournament.

All in all, I like it. The dual TV coverage is nice. GL Tommy

Pat Perez is an interesting play I think. Only selling at 3. Guy has the game, its the head which is always the question. The temper specifically. Have a feeling he will hang around

Where did DL3 suddenly find this form? It's strange to think that if Tiger didn't have a few bad breaks and short missed putts fri & sat, he'd probably be 1 off the lead. Think he needs 63 for a possibility of a play off but basically he's toast.

I'd love to see Bjorn or Westwood win but these two are amongst the biggest chokers in the game so I'm not holding out much hope.

Pat Perez at +3300 at Pinny right now. 2 shots backs, if he keeps his cool, nice price for someone who has plenty of game.

Some closing thoughts...

Michael Campbell had another great major, totally under the radar.

Bjorn really showed me something. Especially with the putter. Guy was amazing with the flat stick

VJ needs to spend less time pounding balls and more time figuring out his putting. He is is serious need of help. A pathetic putter at this point.

Tiger impressed me more in defeat than in many of his victories. Said the same thing after the US Open. His resiliency is so far and above everyone else.

Stuart Appleby continues to disappoint under pressure. Not sure anymore if he is capable of winning a major.

Think people are overreacting to Goosen. Meaning I think people are too negative regarding some of his recent performances. He has been in contention in three of the four, which has not been his normal performance in recent years. So I think he is actually better now than he used to be. More consistent.

Finally in regard to Phil I have mixed feelings. On the positive side he has now won two majors with birdies on the last hole. Both under tremendous pressure. He was able to win with less than his A game the last three days. Firmly believe he will win more majors in the coming years. On a negative note, he should have won this more easily than he did. I know winning a major is not supposed to be easy, and that the course was real brutal this weekend, especially in the afternoon. But lets face it, he is head and shoulders above the guys who finished second. Never should have turned out as close as it did. He really needs to find a killer instinct, dont know if he can. Has all the talent, almost as much as Tiger and more than anyone else. But he still makes you shake your head at times, and this comes from one of his biggest fans. Its funny I thought he played better in some of his prior losses in the majors. Was real happy for him (and me too). Definitely the fans favorite.

Bjorn is an incredible player. He now has to be considered a threat to win a major-- maybe more than Garcia.

Thought the PGA was very compelling-- very happy Phil did it-- he really did play well and the course was very difficult the later in the day.

Got to say I am not a huge Tiger fan but he is amazing. He lost the tournament on Thursday by not starting well and then he played brilliantly on Saturday and Sunday. I am skeptical of the way he plays but you can't argue with two wins, a runner up and 4 th place finish in the majors.
