Default John Deere Classic>>

I decided to do a little capping today and think this is a good tourney to build the bankroll going into the British Open. BTW since Vijay is not playing this week I think you really have to like his chances in the Open. Jim Furyk is playing well but I think he is going to be too popular and I don't like hearing him say he has no clue at St. Andrews.

In order of preference:

Duffy Waldorf 81/1
Lucas Glover 51/1
Zach Johnson 41/1
Kevin Stadler 201/1
Arjun Atwal 81/1

I have bet all of these each way at golfinggods.com. I bet more money on Waldorf, Atwal and Glover. Swinging for the fences boys.

4-1 last week, most money won for a week, so far this year. Still not a breakout though. Also hit a 3-match parlay at SIA. 9 players involved. Paid 10-1.

This week is going to be better. An easy track that should play at 15-18 under for the winner. I'm taking Hensby to repeat as winner, and two others. Hensby's hot right now, and he's been winning for me too.

Hensby to win 23-1
Zach to win 41-1
J L lewis to win 81-1\

These are my match-up guys. I'm taking them no matter who they play. Like Buzz, I capped all day today.

Hensby---on fire
Coceres---gonna be a dog, but he plays this course well, he's rested
Stricker---stays in every match, won't beat himself
Sluman---oldie but a goodie here
Zach---up and down, his turn for the up
J L Lewis---You have to have one freaky guy in your lineup

More later---GL

I caved in, took Eaks---101-1 and each way, top 4, 26-1. Got it at SIA, better odds than GG.

What the hell is the concession bet?

I tend to bet players using the course criteria and picking players that are favoured by those conditions but I don't know what to make of Deere Run - it seems a bit of a one off course on the circuit. So many dog-legs and big greens and fairly long. Does anyone have any further info on the course set-up - deepness of rough etc otherwise i might swerve this week again.

value- let me seee what I can find. Pretty generic course I think. I think there will be some low numbers out there.

Really think there are some bargains out there:

Matchups

Seniors:

Tom Kite -103 v. Hale Irwin- this has to be a wrong line. Kite is playing good on the PGA Tour and Irwin is a great competitor but he is no lock anymore.

PGA Tour:

Arjun Atwal -121 v. J. Snyder III- good match up- I think Atwal is sitting on a huge tournament.
Lucas Glover -121 v. Sean O'Hair- Really think Glover is putting together a great year (though O'Hair maybe the more now player) just think if Glover puts together 4 solid rounds we are home here.

First round: Duffy Waldorf +115 v. Z. Johnson- Everybody loves Johnson, well the Duffmeister played swimmingly in the first two rounds and stayed in contention for awhile- I am looking him to be more focussed than Johnson who may have bigger fish fry in Scotland.

European Tour:

Retief Goosen -115 v. Phil Mickelson shouldn't this line be about -305. Two players playing two different styles, plus I just recall Lefty's hatred for European Golf. I would be shocked if he was in contention here ( I also too a light bite of Goosen for the day at -110 also)

First Round: Tom Lehman +112 v. Thomas Bjorn- Bjorn is as solid as they come but Lehman is the guy who has the true affinity for Scottish golf. Like him in the first round don't think he will last four days but one good day should be the schizo Bjorn.

I bet all these at Pinnacle, biggest bet was the senior tour, big bet on Lehman and Waldorf.

This course is fairly long, at almost 7200 yds. Not too difficult if one can play target golf. The targets are fairly large. Not many bunkers, and look like large, semi-deep, but fluffy sand. Easy sand shots. The whole track is actually 4 little circles, not the up and backs of a usual midwest layout. Greens are all longish, 100 ft. or longer, and narrow, 50 ft. or less. Almost all have teirs, some 3 teirs. In the past, they have been soggy and hold excellent, great for flag hunters. Scrambling is easy here, no penalty rough, little water, almost no fairway bunkers. One of, if not the easiest TPC course. My take----a long muni course, 18 under at least. 64's and 63's by some "who the hell is that" guys. Hope this helps Value.

Good tip on Goosen, Buzz. I grabbed 2 units over Lefty, -115. I almost never look at the M/U's for the Euros, but I love this bet. Please don't get me capping 2 or 3 tourneys a week, just to stay even with you. BTW, I have a great tip on this weeks Junior Women's Asian tour. Satchiko Keiko 51-1.

Thanks guys - I figured it was a glorified municipal course and the guy who gets hot with the putter will most likely win - A swerve again for me.

Got hosed I knew Lehman would play well in Scotland played him against Bjorn and Bjorn doesn't show. Got Duffmeister in though. Pinnacle didn't have anything up for Lehman day two which is nuts.

She must have played well.

I passed on the day two match ups.

I guess slow play is a huge topic in the grill rooms on the PGA Tour. I have been watching guys like Glen "All" Day and Ben Crane that are so slow and how they are affecting their playing partners. Especially Ben Crane he is horribly slow.

I was very close to playing Hunter Mahan this week under the credentials that he was one of the longer hitters in the field, that wasn't desperate for accuracy and had reasonably good putting stats but thought this is crazy and decided on another week off.

Lets hope he doesn't haunt me.

WIE to NOt make cut -335. Wie would have to shoot 68 or 10% chance a 69. I dont think she cant putt this well again, and even with the 27 putts still only shot 70
