Default The Colonial

I'm on a heater. Three winning weeks of the last four.

The Ft. Worth, Tex. Colonial is this week, with only Lefty showing up. Four of the top five guys sitting out this one. Phil has won once here with a 2nd place also. He will be the fav. of course, but judging from last year, I doubt he'll take it again.

This is a weird par 70 course. It looks easy and plays tough. Lots and lots of birdies, and lots and lots of bogeys. 50% pars is not uncommon. Last year's winner, Flesch, had 17 birds and 6 bogeys, and that's exactly what's needed to win this deal. Maximixe the birds and minimize the boges. 2nd place Campbell, was all over the map with 2 doubles, 10 bogeys, 20 birdies and 2 eagles. I'm up, I'm down, whoops, I'm up again. Phil had 16 bogeys and 15 birdies. Gamez steadied the course, T5 with only 6 bogeys and 12 birds. He may be worth a M/U play here. In fact, I'll take him if he's listed in a m/u.

Common sense tells me to take Flesch or Gamez or anyone who makes few mistakes, but I'm going to bet on a pure action player who tries to win with every shot. I'm betting the 2 local Texas boys can make it happen. Providing of course, they get fewer bogeys and use their local knowledge on the greens.

Justin Leonard to win is my pick.
Chad Campbell an EW place bet.

I don't know what their odds are yet, but I'm getting them anyway. Shopping around of course.

Hole number 4---252 yard par 3--- I'm hitting driver. GL to our golf posse.

Furyk sure looks good to me right now as far as outrights.

Playing very well. Course should suit him fine.

He will definitely be one of my outrights. Purdy on the back to back another.

Going to stab around at some outrights.

Verplank ew- loved the way he played last week. My only problem with him is that he doesn't win.
Garcia- has played well and likes the course, doesn't need to putt great to win on these small greens, his shotmaking is huge.

DiMarco figures well here I think. He can bunt it around and play his kind of shots into the greens. The claw freaks me out but will take it in this spot.

Did anybody know that Todd Hamilton was such a bad putter?? He really struggled last week close to the hole.

Irish Open playing lunch money on Trevor Immelman- my lunch money plays suck and am starving over here- need a little change.

tommyjay- R.W. Eaks fired a 66 in the Blue Angel seniors last round and he did have it way under Sunday. I am playing another lunch money play on him in the Brunos.

I'm on Eaks too, no winning without me! 20 to win.

Leonard to win 41-1

Leonard over Ames -112
Campbell over T. Clark -126
McCarron over Sutherland -105 2 Sacto boys battle it out.

All Pinny, bet Tues night. GL

Won 3 match bets on Verplank last week and lost on Garcia/Donald but still a good week.

Colonial is always one of the fairest tests and I'll be looking for a bit of value this week. My 2 for the outrights are:

K Perry @ 28/1 - Totesport, Golfinggods
D Toms @ 35/1 Betfair (33.25/1 after max commission)

Let me know if there are better prices available.

Match Bets - Toms over Love, Toms over Weir, Perry over Weir

DiMarco should go well again as should Verplank but they don't win so I'll take a couple of proven "WINNERS" when they are thereabouts over them and Mickleson who'll have to have better course management than he has been showing recently.

Blowing my own trumpet but my picks looking mighty good at halfway - long way to go but I have a free bet to decent profits for Perry & Toms. The match ups are already locked up as weir missed the cut.

That is some nice picking Valueman. It's always good when your op doesn't make the cut. I think Perry should be able to walk this one home for a nice profit for you. GL.
