Default Chrysler Classic of Tucson>>

I kind of like this event as I think the WGC is just too tough to call and probably is decided by favorites.

I am taking:

Kevin Na
Bob Tway
Justin Rose

as of right now. Looking Calcavecchia though he has had a rough career in Tucson.

Buzz, like a few plays in this tourney as well...

Winners, will probably play Rose, Olazabal, and Sutherland

Matchups that I have already played all for 1 unit:

J. Rose over B. Davis -110 (5Dimes)
K. Sutherland over B. Estes -125 (WWTS)

I saw Beem play two holes last week in LA, he seemed to be hitting the ball reasonably well. Personally, and I think the odds support it, this week is pretty much wide open. He has not played there since '02, he has missed the cut 3 times, the one time he made the cut he finished 9th. His driving accuracy is horrendous (182nd) which obviously, at least in his case, leads to poor GIR % (148th), and his putting stinks (182nd). The only way I would play him is on a hunch (he did finish in 13th last week) that he might be ready to break out, and you find value in the odds you are getting.

Kevin Sutherland is my pick this week. We have good news and bad news, regarding the hometown Sacramento boy. First the bad. Kevin is 40 years old and probably past his prime, he plays well on Thurs. and Fri. and not so well after the cut. He's a nice guy, and doesn't seem to have the killer instinct, and he can double bogey fairly easily.

The good news---The really good players aren't in Tucson. Kevin is having a killer 2005 start. 5 for 5 made cuts, with 4 top 20's, and 3 top 10's, against full fields. He's up in all catagories, stat wise. His putting is superb, and he scrambles well for pars. I believe Kevin is trying to make this year his career year, so he will put every ounce into this effort, and for as long as this streak continues.

I see the tourney playing out like this---Kevin takes a 3 or 4 shot lead in the first 2 rounds and barely hangs on for the win. Bank it.

Hope you're right TJ, got him at 18 to 1, Rose at 28 to 1, and Olazabal at 33 to 1.
