Default David Duval is 53 shots behind

There are two rounds still to go in the Hope, I'm sensing a comeback.

He was even par through 9 today and finished 13 over for the day. I would have taken him apart on that nine. Really sad he was starting to some what get it together last year. Looks like he has lost it again. He took a 6 on a par 3, thats hard to do in the desert.

Guys, he has played liked 9 holes of golf in like three months. From what i read he basically did not lift a club the past few months.

Think if he plays at least two tourneys a month going forward he can be competitive.

Duval is "gone" - end of story - very sad as I feel for the guy but he is another Baker-Finch.

valueman, there is nothing to feel sorry for. The guy has never been happier in his life. Is wealthy beyond all our imaginations. Has a great relationship with his wife and family by all accounts.

He is a different guy. I think you are wrong comparing him to Finch. But we shall see. Again the guy is happier now than he has been before by his accounts. He never seemed very happy when he was on top.

i don't feel sorry for him earnings wise but when you see a professional who was at the top of their sport return as a mere shadow and disgrace the memory of their great performances. Like boxers when they come back for the money and top horses that have had bad injuries and run round in the lower grades.

If he's happy GL to him but it can't make him happier to be shooting 13 over on a back 9 of one of the easiest courses around. Give the game up or return when at least you can do your name credit - i don't see him ever getting back in the top 50.

I guess its just perception. He is disgracing nothing. If anything I admire him more than ever.

That's a sad attitude alysheeba and only one that I am too familiar with having spent most of my time in the UK.

Admiration for the loser who sticks his head up to get battered more - that is plain dumb in my books and nothing to admire.

What would be to admire is if he took a year off worked on his game in private and came back near or at his best.

Valueman, we are at a crossroads here, clear we wont come to agreement. I look at more than just what he has done on the golf course. A man's job does not define his character. He is far from a "loser" in my book. He was best in the world, no one can take that away from him. Imagine being the best in the world at something? He was. And again, he is very happy where he is off the course.

I admire him for not giving up when he plays bad, like Baker-finch did. He doesnt define himself by his golf. I still think he has good golf in him. But even if he doesnt, he is rich and happy. We should all be so lucky

David is taking gas again this week. Sheesh, I don't know how he can do it. I guess he has to play his way out of it or quit. Getting married w/ kids might make him happy FOR NOW, but it won't later. I'd bet my BR on that. I think he needs help, swing type and head type, and a little spiritual help too. Never hurts.

He's taking a beating again - 11 over thru 15 last i checked - embarrassing himself like this is not gonna get him out of this negative spiral. you can't play your way out when you are this far away from pro standard.

He played pretty well today after that start. Where are the Ben Curtis needs to quit threads?

Seriously just give DD some time. He has hardly played any golf this year.

Baker Finch wasnt making birdies during his collapse. Duval is. Just making too many mistakes. Once he corrects those he will be fine
