Default Ryder Cup standings as of 8/1/2004

European Team has some major choices. One of the best players is the captain, would love to see Langer do the player/captain thing. Its my understanding is the top 5 from the Ryder Cup World list and 5 who are not in top 5 of world in the European rankings.

SCROLL DOWN FOR FINAL TOP TEN

Here is the US standings. Sutton will announce and select the Monday after the PGA. My bet is Verplank is in as a captains choice and Haas would be favored to get the other one. Would like to see Daly and Hamilton and force Hal's hand.

Buzz, I feel people are being very much unfair to use europeans writing us off. What do you feel. Guess we'll find out how the US Stand after Monday

What do you mean writing you off. I am betting on the European team to win already.

I hate the US team 8-10.

I hope Langer plays he deserves it.

A look at the final Ryder Cup standings. The top ten players qualify for the team, along with two captain's picks by Hal Sutton announced Monday.
Point Breakdown -- 300 points for 1st, 180 - 2nd, 160 - 3rd, 140 - 4th, 120 - 5th, 100 - 6th, 80 - 7th, 60 - 8th, 40 - 9th, 20 - 10th.
Point Earners at PGA: Chris DiMarco, T2 - 170 points; Justin Leonard, T2 - 170 points; Chris Riley, T4 - 130 points; Phil Mickelson, T6 - 80 points; Ben Crane, T9 -- 15 points
