Default Was thinking of taking Phil..........

to win the British Open this year, but after looking at his lifetime results across the pond, I can't bring myself to pull the trigger. I still can't believe how bad his play has been over there.

I actually think that is a decent play. Would lay off on the US Open as he seems to be struggling a little lately with his accuracy. But could see him doing real well at the British Open, despite his poor record there. Like Sergio as well.

Here are my thoughts, I think Phil wins the U.S. Open.

Starting last year Phil goes over to Europe two weeks in advance. I think this will be huge for him this year. For the past seven years he wanted to play the week before a major so before last year he would play in the US and fly over to play in the British Open. I think that is almost impossible to do. With Phil's form and if he wins the U.S. Open and he works hard in Europe he could be a factor, especially at a shotmakers course.

Aly- Did you hear Nicklaus last week say that they are moving the St. Andrews Open up a year from its proper rotation to try and get Nicklaus to play there before he gives it up?? That ought to prove who the true golfing legend is.

Did not hear that Buzz. I know this will get me in hot water from some, but Im sorry Tiger fans Jack is STILL the man. The greatest player in the modern era.

Would love to see him play there.

I think JD will be reckoned with at the British Open. He has really really impressed me this year. Been ultra consistent (which he hasnt his whole career) as far as cuts made and being in contention or around it.

I like Retief for the US Open right now and David Toms. Will find some longer shots as we get closer.

Alright! You guys have talked me into going with my initial instinct (which is always the best for me).

Yes, Jack is definitely still "The Man".

Jack is by far the man. Never forget it.

I really like Phil to win the U.S. Open, think the course fits him to a tee. However I don't know how you go against Ernie Els right now either. You got to like Vijay Singh's play and look out for Mr. U.S. Open - Lee Janzen who is playing well.

I need to figure out my wagering strategy.

I know Aly likes the British Open but I really like the U.S. Open as my favorite major. The Masters has great coverage but nothing like the U.S. Open.

The two Opens are my favorite majors.

Thats what makes this next month so great.

Its funny the two have kind of gone on a role reversal. It used to be you would see a "freakish" finish at the US Open, with unknown players doing very well, and name players only winning the British Open. Its now the opposite.
