Looks like the rule change (1 pt for OT loss) had the effect of increasing the number of games that actually go into OT. At best, there is only a very slight decrease in games that end in ties. I think the whole idea of incenting teams to end regulation in a tie is stupid ... undesirable things start happening when the games are not zero-sum. |
