OK, I’ve done quite a few things with the reviews.

First off, in the Feedback sections, I went through every one of those thread links that were rendered dead by the change in Major Wager software earlier this year, of all the posted reviews and all the reviews in preparation, and I switched them over to the new format. So if you click on those now, they should work.

I also added the relevant recent threads to those Feedback sections to bring them up to date.

Or at least I did so as far as I could. Because I have to say it: I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE SEARCH FUNCTION. Here’s how useless it is: When you’re searching the body of posts (it’s slightly less bad for searching titles), it only accepts words of five letters or more. So forget about looking up threads that mention Jazz, WWTS, NASA, WSEX, Rio, IIS, WIT, etc. Forget Del Mar, except for the threads where someone had the foresight to misspell it as one word—Delmar. In short, forget about researching probably about half of the books with the search function. Even some that are searchable just barely are. Like with All World or Top of the World; the best you can do is get all the threads that anywhere have the word “World.”

Now, the upshot of this is—well twofold. Number one, from now on, when some newbie stumbles in and says, “Duhhhhh, anybody here know anything about a place called Rio or something like that?” you can no longer harumph at him and tell him, “Stop pestering us with your inquiries; all you need do is run a search and you’ll find numerous threads about that book!” Not any more.

Number two, if you can’t search them, neither can I. So the Feedback sections for about half of the reviews will have few if any threads after about January of this year.

I know a lot of you like to waste your time worrying about trifling matters like handicapping games and figuring out which sportsbook is going to steal from you next, but let’s get our priorities in order here. I call upon all my Major Wager brethren (and sistren) to immediately gather in the middle of nowhere in rural Ontario and proceed to picket The Major’s house until he installs a search function that’s not a load of crap.

Meanwhile, I’ve also added various updates to my reviews in the last couple days. Under “line services,” I’m now including Oddswiz, as well as the previous Don Best Premium, Don Best Island Express, and Tip-EX. I changed some of the transaction information for Canbet and Casablanca. I added a considerable amount about Casablanca’s totally revamped promotions. I went back and examined how things have changed in the month since my All World review. And a few other minor things here and there.
