Michelle is going to do to the LPGA what Tiger did for the men's tour. Increase interest for the casual fan. That's a nice thing for the women, they need a little jolt.

Let's face it, golf in general, is a niche sport, always will be. The LPGA even more so. It isn't fair to compare it to anything but last year's numbers for the same event. Not NASCAR, not Oprah, not Seseme St.

There is no downside to Michelle playing with the men this week. It's good for Nike, good for John Deere, good for the LPGA, good for the PGA, good for the fans, good for network, good for the charities, good all around.

Will Wie ever win a men's event? No, and hell no. Will she ever play on the weekend? You bet she will.

The real question should be---How much will Michelle dominate the women's tour? And will the fans turn on her because she's winning half of the events? I guess we will see in about 5 years.
