Default On Roberts being confirmed

I am not now, nor have I ever been/ likely never will be a conservative ! In Canadian elections, I vote for the Lefties, sometimes holding my nose ( because of candidate/ issue position ). Often though, a " conservative/ liberal " doesn't apply properly to everybody. For example, I am a big believer in the Death penalty for many types of crimes and if the accused gets a fair trial.

As many know, I think Bush is a very mediocre President. He divides people rather than brings them together; follows the lead of minority, evangelical Christian groups, rather than being a leader of the country.

Notwithstanding those opinions, I believe Roberts should be selected to the Supreme Court. He is clearly extraordinarily qualified to be a member, a gfted, highly intelligent and thoughtful jurist. The Democrats should go ahead, ask their questions and vote to confirm him.

Of course, if Bush opts for a conservative for the next replacement, that bar has been set awfully high.
