Default RE:Columnist Jeff Haney: Over-the-counter tips on courteous sports wagering

Some OTC tips for ticket writers:

#1 When paying off/counting $$ from large winning wagers, be DISCREET. Don't advertize with a loud cadence and highhanded dealing.

#2 When accepting large wagers........no need to yell loud enough to be heard across the casino.

#3 Don't be in awe when cashing a large ticket. This may be his only winner of the day. IOW, comments like "WOW" are not necessary.

#4 Keep "eye fukking rubbernecks" away from the counter. They sometimes have bad thoughts/ideas.

#5 Don't hustle for tokes. Do the job and be courteous and the right people will take care of you.

When both sides adhere to proper protocol, mutual respect can be achieved.
