Totally different animals. In the NFL scenario, I'm talking about teams that have quit on their coach...NY Giants or Cle. come to mind. When they play the average Sun afternooin game I don't see any reason for them to all of the sudden start to try and play hard, but when they are on Sun/Mon Night, and they know everybody is watching, I give that some consideration.
In Cal's case, up until the last week of the year they thought they were a lock to be in a BCS game and actually felt they had an outside shot to be in the Nat Championship Game with a couple upsets. Well, they ended up getting jumped by Texas and then are forced to play a bowl game on the 29th of December.
Buzz, Cal/TT result surely doesn't mean OKLA will win, but you have to consider it. What better way to gauge to teams from different conf then when other teams from the same conf play. |
