RE: How can an NFL Ref see something different then the rest of the world??? The SF receiver touched the Chicago DB as they were going down. At that moment, the DB had not yet taken full possession of the ball. Then he caught the ball and his knee touched, but he hadn't been touched since he caught the ball, so his knee touching didn't mean anything. I think the refs got that one right. I thought the first call was poor, even though the ball probably did hit the ground, since there was clearly no indisputable evidence.
