Tennessee Says No Plans To Change Game Time

Published: Sep 16, 2004

GAINESVILLE - Attempting to quell online rumors about a hurricane-induced time change for Saturday's Florida- Tennessee game in Knoxville, Tennessee officials released a statement Wednesday that said the game will go on as planned at 8 p.m.
``At the current time, there are no plans to deviate from that scheduled start,'' read the release, which was issued by Tennessee's sports information office.

On Wednesday, meteorologists following Hurricane Ivan predicted the remnants of the storm could settle over east Tennessee on Saturday, producing high winds and dumping heavy rain on Knoxville.

VOLS LINEMEN WON'T SQUEAL: Tennessee C Jason Respert said he has heard about Florida LB Channing Crowder's hog-hunting hobby, but the Volunteers senior didn't seem that impressed.

In his spare time, Crowder hunts wild hogs barehanded in the woods of south Georgia. Respert, from Warner Robins, Ga., believes Crowder will get more resistance this week from Tennessee's offensive line than from that other set of porkers.

``It doesn't mean much,'' Respert said. ``I think we're a little more athletic than pigs.''
