RE:Pitcher Francisco arrested; career could be in jeopardy Her husband is a fireman:
OAKLAND (BCN) -- A Livermore woman who was struck in the face by a chair thrown by Texas Rangers pitcher Franklin Francisco said Wednesday that she was "fearful for my life."
Speaking at a news conference at her lawyers office in Oakland, Jennifer Bueno, 41, said of Rangers players who came after fans at the Texas-Oakland game Monday night, "they're big people and they were trying to swing" at fans.
Bueno said, "I was in shock after getting hit" by the chair. She said she suffered a fractured nose, has stitches on her nose and feels dizzy. Doctors are checking to see if she suffered a concussion, she said.
Bueno's husband, Hayward fire Battalion Chief Craig Bueno admitted he heckled Rangers players during the game but he said he didn't say anything out of the ordinary.
He said he has season tickets to 40 A's games a year and heckles players from visiting teams "to get on them and shake them up so the A's have a better chance of winning."
The Buenos' attorney, J. Gary Gwilliam, said he doesn't plan to file a lawsuit on behalf of the Buenos against Francisco at this time.
He said he wants to wait until after the police investigation into the incident is completed. |
