-Sammy Schiavo vs. Per Eklund
R1 - Schiavo enters looking fired up. Eklund more relaxed. Schiavo comes in initially more aggressive and the two clinch on the fence. Schiavo slips after an overhand right. Another heavy overhand right drops Eklund hard. He picks up quickly and they clinch again. A takedown attempt ends with Eklund on his back attempting a triangle which Schiavo slips out of easily and then pulling rubber guard. Schiavo stands up out of the guard and after some low leg kicks from Eklund he punches his way back into his guard narrowly missing some upward heel kicks. Again Eklund tries for rubber guard. Schiavo pulls out narrowly avoiding more up kicks. Ekland stands up and the two keep distance. Schiavo rushes Eklund against the cage and the round ends. Eklund looks tired.
R2 - Schiavo opens with a heavy overhand right that doesn't connect and Eklund clinches him on the cage. An attempted take down ends with Scchiavo on the cage and this is soon reversed. The two stand in the middle of the cage with Schiavo throwing short punches. They clinch, Schiavo is controlling the pace. An overhand right from Schiavo connects and they clinch again. Sciavo throws a right high kick and a further clinch sees him on his knees. Eklund takes his back and rolls onto his own back working the rear naked choke. Eklund can't get both hooks in. He goes for a figure four and sinks the choke in deeper. Schiavo resists and is able to escape the choke. As he escapes Eklund attampts an arm bar but Schiavo bails out and ends up in top position in Eklund's guard. They finish the round with Schiavo throwing punches from Eklund's open guard.
R3 - After some circling, Eklund shoots cleanly and ends up in top position in Schivo's guard. Eklund works to full mount. As he goes for Schiavo's left arm, The Dog turns onto his front. A few short punches and a bleeding Eklund sinks in the rear naked choke leaving Schiavo with no choice but to tap with 1.47 on the clock  |
