I never stated he gave up the game. I said his game went south after the vertigo and he should work at getting his A game back before playing in more tournaments - i.e. spend time practicing, working with a coach etc. and then when he is in top form again get back into it.

His game, left for dead, came back some last year. Did you not notice? Did you not see the attention at last year' US Open? Did you miss the good finish?

Yes, if you review you'll see I mentioned that Duval was finally looking back in form during that tournament but then he did nothing afterwards in lesser tournaments. I guess I was wrong. One decent round doesn't mean that everything is fixed. I still contend that when his personal issues are resolved he should spend time working on his game rather than rushing back to play. The guy has immense talent as does Michelle Wie but at this point they need to work out their problems on the practice range not playing in tournaments.

You are comparing a grown man, who was number one in the world with a 17 year old girl.

Do you understand that she has rarely played this year and do you understand why?

I keep repeating this, but only because people seem oblivious to it. She has barely played this year due to INJURY.

I stick by what I said. She is only 17 and should take the time now to work on her game and her schooling. Playing in tournaments at this point is counterproductive for her.

I don't want to put words in people's mouths but I believe what I hear most posters trying to say is that she made a huge mistake by rushing to prove herself at a young age. Too many people try to rush into something, make an early splash and then crash before they are even at the point they were ready. Tiger Woods is an exception rather than the rule.
Hartley, I refuse to believe you are serious. She has been HURT. How can she practice when she has been hurt!

In hindsight she came back early, for the majors. I have my theories why, and should be pretty obvious to anyone. She has been hurt most of the year

Or are you saying she has not been hurt this year?

By the way not sure I even understand your Tiger comments. He is not the exception if that is your point. Do you not know when he turned pro (his age) or when he contended in majors? He was in his 20's. She was 15-16 contending in majors

As far as Duval, please explain to me how you know what he has and has not been praticising in the past. Are you privy to his schedule
