2 part question

PANCHO_SANZA (Nov 25, 2003 8:59:26 PM)
Rick, every week after the end of another sunday football, there is always lots of speculation regarding how the books did during the week and how they are doing this year. How would you rate the football season thus far, Excellent, good, average, below average, poor. Please rate the All world group of booksa and other books to the best of your knowledge.

PANCHO_SANZA (Nov 25, 2003 9:00:18 PM)
2nd part, when a lot of favorites or dogs cover in a given week, is that necessarily good/bad for a book with a player profile like allworld?

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:02:35 PM)
if you have a question for Rick please pm me and I'll put you on the list. the vig is up next

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:03:19 PM)
sorry, i think in general most of the books have done well this year, we have done okay in all world and the other books with with competion as tough as it is its hard to see those giant winning weeks that we were used to before

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:05:09 PM)
in all world when the dogs bark we usually do well because we don't take any wise guy business, i think in the offices that take the wise guys don't do as well when the dogs bark

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:05:38 PM)
if you have a question for Rick please pm me and I'll put you on the list.

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:06:22 PM)
competition sorry i am putting up half times also

TheVig (Nov 25, 2003 9:08:12 PM)
rick: now that your just about done with allworld, what comes next? are u going to fade into the sunset and maybe switch sides of the counter? I would think after all these years you would be sick of the day to day BS

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:09:56 PM)
i wish i knew what i was going to do but i really don't know as of now i am talking with 2 or 3 people about working and yes it gets tiring putting in these 70 to 80 hours weeks every week but i like it so i guess they will eventually take me out of this chair and plant me

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:10:02 PM)
if you have a question for Rick please pm me and I'll put you on the list.

gw (Nov 25, 2003 9:11:37 PM)
Rick please explain your comment about competion and what is the net effect for the player?

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:14:02 PM)
Rick is busy putting up halftime lines.. have patience =)

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:14:11 PM)
it doesn't effect the player my meaning was that the players are spread out over so many different books now that it is harder to have those giant winning weeks because you have less business

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:15:05 PM)
sbr.. you're up

sbr.com (Nov 25, 2003 9:15:17 PM)
Rick, Do you really think we will see any major buy outs soon or are buyouts of top books not workable is this industry?

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:16:37 PM)
it seems to me like its hard to buy out another book, you might see some takeovers but actually buyouts of other books i think they are few and far between

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:17:29 PM)
pancho.. go

PANCHO_SANZA (Nov 25, 2003 9:17:33 PM)
What is your best guess of what the offshore landscape will look like 5-10 years down the road and how will the US government efforts to restrict money transfers affect that development.

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:17:44 PM)
if you have a question for Rick please pm me and I'll put you on the list.

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:18:40 PM)
capt up next

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:19:49 PM)
i think it will be like the old saying, the strong take from the weak, and the smart take from the strong, and the smart ones will takeover the weaker ones who can't survive alone and they will be smart enough to find ways to get money into the shop

capt (Nov 25, 2003 9:20:53 PM)
rick tell me that my money is safe there are alot of rumors floating about all world. i respect you and have trust your world is gold to me like a few others

capt (Nov 25, 2003 9:21:08 PM)

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:22:45 PM)
sorry.. after capt is done here

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:22:50 PM)
capt your money in all world is safer than in any other book in the off shore industry, i told you before these guys that own all world are not 100 percent they are 1000 percent and they don't know any other way to do business than to pay you when you win

capt (Nov 25, 2003 9:23:19 PM)
well rick thats good enough for me

capt (Nov 25, 2003 9:23:32 PM)

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:24:41 PM)
capt my main job right now is to come in every monday morning and do the figures and any of the large players who have money coming, i have to call them and ask them where and how they want to be paid because these guys like to pay on monday

capt (Nov 25, 2003 9:25:08 PM)
thats great news!!

raisencain (Nov 25, 2003 9:25:09 PM)
rick, with the last few weeks being tough around, many posters have been scracthing their heads looking for reassureance. not sure if you saw "the shrinks" idea at his site, but if you did, what did you think of it and if you didn't, how would you feel about disclosing your books info to a third party or someone without an interest in lying about the figures?

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:26:00 PM)
sbr, your next, then 2 min_warning

raisencain (Nov 25, 2003 9:26:11 PM)
sorry for the bad spelling:(

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:27:09 PM)
if i was the owner of a book i would have no problem in a third party coming into my office at any given time and have someone give him the players balances and then he could check with my bank or trust company and make sure that money was in there like it is supposed to be

raisencain (Nov 25, 2003 9:27:45 PM)
says a lot about all world, thx rick

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:28:00 PM)
but you would have to allow for money that was on the books also like from neteller, western union and so on

raisencain (Nov 25, 2003 9:28:47 PM)
you mean accounts that the books have at the various money tranfer systems?

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:29:18 PM)
if you have a question for Rick please pm me and I'll put you on the list- sbr, ready? you're next

sbr.com (Nov 25, 2003 9:29:27 PM)
Rick give us your thoughts on the shop down the hall...are they affected by the Pari pullout? They did have some business relationships correct?

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:29:31 PM)
yes there could be times when a book has 250 or 300k in third party vendors hands

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:30:21 PM)
you have to refresh my memory because we changed buildings and we are the only shop in here

sbr.com (Nov 25, 2003 9:30:34 PM)

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:32:30 PM)
it is my understanding that they had a programing relationship only where as they were building a poker site and some other software developements for the pari group

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:32:37 PM)
after sbr is 2min_warning, then pancho, then YOU =)

sbr.com (Nov 25, 2003 9:33:11 PM)

sbr.com (Nov 25, 2003 9:33:33 PM)

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:34:06 PM)
that sbr is a wiley dude ; )

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:34:23 PM)
i can not say one way or the other if i really knew i would tell you but i don't know nor do i have that kind of a relationship with them

sbr.com (Nov 25, 2003 9:34:43 PM)
OK thanks Rick

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:34:45 PM)
2min_warning, your next

2min_warning (Nov 25, 2003 9:34:49 PM)
Do you keep in touch with your old book - Gold Medal? They seem like a solid book that likes to fly under the radar and keep its squares happy with re-up bonuses. What is your opinion?

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:36:20 PM)
pancho on deck.. please pm me if you have a question for Mr Allworld and I'll put you in line

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:36:52 PM)
no i don't keep in touch with them, and i don't think its a secret that i am not really very fond of those people

2min_warning (Nov 25, 2003 9:37:41 PM)
okay then

2min_warning (Nov 25, 2003 9:38:08 PM)
thanks by the way

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:39:11 PM)

PANCHO_SANZA (Nov 25, 2003 9:40:14 PM)
Rick, knowing what you know, If you were to start playing with serious money offshore, what 5 shops would you post up with if safety was your number one priority. Exclude Allworld please.

capt (Nov 25, 2003 9:40:46 PM)
great question pancho

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:42:39 PM)
raisincain up next.. anyone else have a question for the king of allworld?

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:42:48 PM)
olympic, and i don't mind telling you spiro is the man, some of us call him the greek god, and there are others who call him the god damn greek, pinnacle, grande, cris, delmar, and the skipper at grande is one of my good friends for many years

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:43:14 PM)
these are not in any particular order either

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:44:10 PM)
bp up after raisincain.. go ahead cain

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:45:12 PM)
sorry to say it but the king has been dethroned

raisencain (Nov 25, 2003 9:45:17 PM)
rick, do you (well, maybe not now, but did you) or does the industry as a whole, have any concerns about what the government may have in store for you guys concerning the money tranfer companies like netteller, WU, bank transfers, etc....... and have you ever thought what it would be like without netteller?

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:46:45 PM)
I wasn't happy to here that Rick. I hear "allworld", I think "Rick"

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:47:26 PM)
i can only imagine what the government has in store for us, neteller is a great out for us for sure, what i think is going to happen is if the time ever comes when you can't get the money to your shops you will just see that much more credit business going on

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:49:44 PM)
chat, you know i guess its better to be a has been than a never was

BettingProphets (Nov 25, 2003 9:50:12 PM)
Rick witht he advent of the low vig business model how do you forsee the industry changing to keep up with the jones so to speak I mean how low can one go and straight book and not bet out with the margins tight enough at -110 let alone-107 or whatever? has a new generation of booking become standard?

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:53:18 PM)
you know i set here and scratch my head all the time trying to figure it out, with the cost of advertising, the bonuses, and all the other expenses i don't know how people do it, i just tip my hat to them, i do think that the books that are charging the lower vigs are happy to make the money pennies at a time instead of nickels and dimes at a time, and i think more people will go that way, i think they will be forced to compete

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:54:04 PM)
last chance folks.. pancho's up next, then TTinCo

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:54:10 PM)
then it's open house?

PANCHO_SANZA (Nov 25, 2003 9:54:30 PM)
Rick, can you give me your best guess, expressed as a percentage, how much of the action that Allworld writes is on full game sides or totals? Consider tis in relation to all other bets like halfs/quarters/parlays etc.

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:56:23 PM)
i would say probably 65-35 for straight plays because basicly all the good options we had for the players have been taken away so now we really only have the straight players

PANCHO_SANZA (Nov 25, 2003 9:56:55 PM)
what "good options" are you referring to?

rick (Nov 25, 2003 9:57:24 PM)
when we offered all the good parlays before and teasers and so on

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 9:57:52 PM)
TTinco is up next, then parlaythis

TTinCO (Nov 25, 2003 9:58:23 PM)
Rick, if Neteller gets choked off in Paypal fashion, how much of the industry makes it over a year?

rick (Nov 25, 2003 10:01:30 PM)
i know of people right now as we speak searching for different options out so if this does happen they will still be able to run the shop, the smart ones will have ways and thats where the customers will go, so i am sure that everyone is looking for other options, its hard to say how many will make it but it will have a big impact on the industry

TTinCO (Nov 25, 2003 10:01:54 PM)
aka, back to credit

rick (Nov 25, 2003 10:02:19 PM)
i thimk your right

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 10:02:27 PM)
parlaythis, fire away, then Philo

parlaythis (Nov 25, 2003 10:02:30 PM)
After rescuing a moribund book and establishing the trust fund, why didn't AW seem to catch on more with the public? Or is it a misperception that it didn't?

rick (Nov 25, 2003 10:05:51 PM)
i have sratched my head over this also, i am not going to bs anyone here, we did not do anywhere near the business i thought we would do by having this trust account, you know maybe thats why they call them gamblers, here in one hand you have your money safely put away in a trust account but over here next door you have joe blow offering you 50 percent bonus, mosy of the say i sure like that bonus, oh hell lets gamble they will pay me when i win

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 10:06:33 PM)
let's finish up here with Philo and open up for general chat

The_Philosopher (Nov 25, 2003 10:07:05 PM)
For an outsider who reads the forums and has access only to "public" information and clues, and not insider gossip and such, what are the most important factors he should weigh in trying to guess the relative degree of risk in having his post-up money at a given shop? Are there things that such a person should have been able to spot about All World under its prior ownership when it came so close to tanking?

rick (Nov 25, 2003 10:10:19 PM)
I guess the main signs should be the check is in the mail type of thing, i think any time you get the run around in any way shape or form then its time to open your eyes, now things can happen but two or three different things can't happen at the same time, if you can't get your money when you ask for it then there is probably reason for alarm

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 10:11:31 PM)
And Rick, no need to rush off but before you go I'd just like to say that I have never heard a negative word about you in the forums or in private. I wish you all the best in whatever comes next. Thanks for being here tonight, sincerely

TTinCO (Nov 25, 2003 10:12:11 PM)
Thanks Rick, anyone up for a cheeseburger?

chatmaster (Nov 25, 2003 10:12:22 PM)
was that a remark?

rick (Nov 25, 2003 10:12:30 PM)
I wish to thank you all and i wish the good people of All World the best of luck in the future

parlaythis (Nov 25, 2003 10:12:35 PM)
Thanks, Rick.

gw (Nov 25, 2003 10:13:04 PM)
Rick, appreaciate your time. Regards, gw

PANCHO_SANZA (Nov 25, 2003 10:13:42 PM)
Rick, you were always very courteous whenever I spoke to you on the phone. We need more guys like you offshore. Good luck.
